- How To Install RASIS
- ---------------------
-
- If you are already a user of RASIS, and you are upgrading, then
- you need to unZIP the file UPGRADE.ZIP, when contains the conversion
- program and further instructions.
- *********************************************************************
-
- If this is your first look at RASIS, you have no need to open that
- particular file.
-
- I had hoped to have a INSTALL.EXE for RASIS, to ease setup for new
- sysops, but alas, with the hoopla and rush of everything, it did
- not make this version.
-
- Suggested Method:
-
- Create a directory, ie: C:\RASIS
-
- Make sure C:\RASIS is in your DOS 'PATH' statement.
-
- Under C:\RASIS make two sub directories, \TMPL and \REPORTS, so your
- directory tree would look like this:
-
- C:\RASIS
- ├──── C:\RASIS\REPORTS
- ├──── C:\RASIS\TMPL
-
- optional └──── C:\RASIS\DOCS
-
- In C:\RASIS put all the folowing files:
- *.EXE, *.OVR, SISED.HLP, *.RIF(if supplied)
-
- in the \TMPL put any supplied *.RMT and *.RLT template files.
-
- When you run SETUPSIS, make sure these directories are defined for
- REPORTS, and TEMPLATE file storage.
- IF no RIF/RMT/RLT files are included in this archive, its ok, when they
- are created by you in RASIS, they will be stored and retreived from
- the defined directories.
-
- The .RIF files, (label format files) are always created/retreived from
- the RASIS system dir, in the above example thats C:\RASIS
-
- When you run SETUPSIS for the first time, and it cannot find a RASIS.CFG
- file, it will ask permission to create a new one, when it does, the
- above directories will be inserted in the fields. As you setup other
- directories, if these or any other are not found, SETUPSIS will optionaly
- create them for you. See SETUP.DOC
-
- Really not to hard to do, if you make a mistake, or are not happy with
- the setup, then you can change it. :)
