- This is information on the Registered <> UnRegistered Versions:
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- And Notes about Version 2.02 comming soon!!
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- In all prior Versions and Releases, certian features/functions of
- RASIS were either Limited or De-Activated when running in UnRegistered
- Mode.
-
- Version 2.01 see's a different approach. I want you, the Sysop, to
- be able to FULLY evaluate the power and features of RASIS.
-
- So, I have made ALL features and functions, in RASIS, available to
- UnRegistered Users. The External File Manager, SisFm, called from RASIS,
- will still be limited until you register.
-
- In trade, for full use, I have implemented an UnRegistered Delay, no more
- than 2 seconds, where in the past the "Registered Only" message would
- display.
-
- Also the signoff screen now has a longer delay, the way it works is this:
-
- On EVEN numbered week days, the regular Registration Information screen
- will display, and pasue for about 10 seconds before returning you to DOS.
-
- On ODD numbered week days, The regular screen will display, and pasue for
- about 4 seconds, THEN.... a Reminder window pops up, and displays for
- about 10 seconds. This window displays a countdown, in the lower right
- corner.
-
- So.... in Unregistered Mode, when quitting RASIS, you have a delay of from
- 10 to 14 seconds before complete termination.
-
- Delays are not fun, but my experience has proven to me the sad fact, that if
- a program is released fully functional, without dleays etc. the
- Registrations are NOT as good as those with features locked out.
-
- So I have decided to try this approach. If it does not work well, Version
- 2.02 will have the features locked out again. The code is still in there,
- will only take me a few minutes to change it. <smile>
-
- Version 2.02
-
- Another version of RemoteAccess is under Beta Test right now. We are now an
- RA Beta Site!!
-
- Version 2.02 of RASIS will be compatible with ALL RA 2.x versions, including
- the upcomming one.
- Read WHATSUP.DOC for a list of the planned new features for RASIS, some of
- which are already implemented in the RASIS 2.02 BETA running here.
-
- Have fun!! Rand-
