  7.     Beta testers are very important to the development of software
  8.     packages. New features and changes need to be tested exhaustively
  9.     before a new version can be released.
  10.  
  11.     A beta team, however, cannot be too large. Many new options need to
  12.     be developed in secret for several different reasons, such as
  13.     possible effects to third party software and to keep an edge on the
  14.     competition.

  16.     The ALLFIX Beta team has about 60 members who dilligently test a 
  17.     new beta version once every week. The beta testers have to meet
  18.     certain requirements. The most important ones are, that they be
  19.     thorough and dependable. A good beta tester is one who tries out 
  20.     the new options and if a mistake is detected, attempts to determine 
  21.     what the cause could be. This information is crucial to the developer.

  23.     Because there are more people interested in joining the beta team
  24.     than there are positions available, this beta team application form
  25.     was created. This will give us a pool of interested and eligible
  26.     systems in which to fill any vacancies in the Beta Team.

  28.     Please fill out the following form to the best of your ability. We
  29.     need people running systems of all types and configurations and with
  30.     different requirements. Therefore, do not exagerate the capabilities 
  31.     of your system. When an opening does appear, a suitable system will 
  32.     be offered the position.

  34.     Rename the application form to NNNNDDDD.PPP where NNNN is your net, 
  35.     DDDD your node number, and PPP your point number.

  37.     For example if your node number is 1:234/5, the form would be renamed
  38.

  41.     If you are located in a different zone than the beta coordinator you
  42.     are applying to, then the PPP should be Z## (Zone Number) with the 
  43.     point numbers being left out. For example 6:789/0 would be...

  47.     Send the form direct (ie. via crash mail, because routed
  48.     applications will not be accepted) as a file-attach to one of the
