  1. USING "GO.BAT" for FILE EDITING AND VIEWING IN TAMIL.
  2. Use GO Filename.TXT    if the Filename.TXT already exists.
  3. If not, then you should save(F8) under a different name within the editor, then
  4. quit(F10). Then use "GO Filename.TXT."
  5. IMPORTANT: If you do not quit(F10), you will keep getting the old text
  6. again and again. This is not a bug. Limitation of BATCH file processing.

  8. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM:

  10. Check the date of your BIOS ROM VERSION using the  BIOSVERS.COM
  11. program supplied with this software. If the date is earlier than
  12. 1983, (Date unknown usually means after 1983, so it is OK)
  13. contact your computer store for an update of the BIOS ROM.
  14. Many software will not run reliably with the old version.
  15.  
  16. Next check the following
  17. (i) Are ALL files (except .TXT and .TAM files) present?. Check if the
  18.     file names, size and date are the same as the original. You should
  19.     copy all files using COPY *.*. The disk is not copy protected.
  20. (ii)The diskette should not be write protected. Is there enough space?
  21. (iii) Is the file purely ASCII file? Try TYPE Filename at the DOS prompt.
  22.     It should look normal.
  23. (iv) Do you have at least 512K bytes RAM memory and a graphic display card.
  24. (v) A lonely character between two font changes may dissappear sometimes (BUG)
  25. (vi) The problem is sometimes eliminated if you insert a space or <Return>.
  26.     If so please write to me exactly under what conditions it occurs.
  27. (vii) Many of the files in version 3 were read-only. So you should convert
  28.     them to normal using ATTR command of DOS and delete them, before
  29. copying the new version. Otherwise you may still be having the old versions.

  31. (viii) Some video cards may not work in some modes. If so check with your
  32.     dealer. EGA 960 by 350 mode will work only if your video parameter
  33.     table is memory resident. If you have a DEVICE = xxxx.SYS for
  34.     the video display, it is usually memory resident. If not you may
  35.     make it memory resident by using the EGAPRMOV.COM program.

  37. IF YOU STILL HAVE A PROBLEM:

  39. Please send me a copy of the problem diskette (Use DISKCOPY of DOS).
  40. Include the following information.
  41. (i) DOS version number (Type VER to see version number)
  42. (ii) Name of your Computer (BIOS if known)
  43. (iii) Name of Text editor used
  44. (iv) Graphic card name
  45. (v) Printer name
  46. (vi) Description of your problem.
