- 1stReader's Multimedia feature (MME) lets you play sound files
- through your Sound Blaster (or compatible) sound card. 1stReader
- can also play MIDI sequences through a MPU401-compatible interface.
-
- If your computer system does not include a sound card or a MIDI
- device then you should not install the multimedia files in order
- to save hard disk space. 278,207 bytes of free disk space are
- required for these files.
-
- If you are running @READER@ under a multitasking system like
- Windows or Desqview, we recommend that you do not use the MME
- feature. Using this feature under a multitasker can cause your
- system to lock up.
-
- Also, some systems may not be able to handle multimedia files
- without 'locking up'. If you experience 'freezes' with MME
- turned on we recommend you disable the switch. You can start
- @READER@ using the command "1ST /SILENT" in order to turn
- MME off from the DOS command line.
