  1. Custom Railgun-Beam. By ChRiSt

  6. ABOUT:   The Railgun Beam looks much more powerful AND has a new cooler color effect -> 
  7.          The inner Beam line is white while the outher Beam rings has a darker blue color.
  8.  
  9. COMMENT: The Beam was supposed to be a 'straight' line, but somehow it tends to get a little 
  10.          screwed up [read: wave like effect -> Looks Cool!] in certain levels. Don't know why 
  11.          though!. This can be seen slightly on the screenshots.

  14. INSTALLATION:
  15.  
  16. 1. Copy all files to: \baseq3\gfx\misc overwriting both originals, 
  17.    or make a PAK file called (fx) pak5.pk3. This file must be placed in the \baseq3 dir.
  18.    The PAK file can be created with WinZIP using NONE COMPRESSION -> Rename the ZIP file 
  19.    to (fx) pak5.pk3.

  21. 2. Use these config settings:

  23.    seta cg_railTrailTime "1000"
  24.    seta r_railWidth "38"
  25.    seta r_railCoreWidth "2"
  26.    seta r_railSegmentLength "8"
  27.  
  28.    These commands can be typed from the in-game console or copied directly from here to the 
  29.    CFG file (default: q3config.cfg) in the \baseq3 dir overwriting the originals.

  31. 3. Choose color number 7 [read: White] in the Player Setup, or type 'COLOR 7' in the console 
  32.    (w/o the quotes).

  34. 4. Play the test (or game when it is released) with the new cool looking Rail-Beam :)

  38. This Rail-Beam is made for Q3test v1.05 -> 1.08 but might be used with any newer versions.
