Energy Armor uses power cells to provide an energy barrier in front and in back of you. This barrier absorbs damage from weapons fired at you but depletes your inventory of power cells in the bargain. When you pick up Energy Armor without carrying any power cells it will not power itself up. You must manually select it from your inventory when you gather some cells. (Note that the Energy Armor only provides one-half the protection behind you!)
