  6. This is a GUI version of ID Software's Unpack.java utility
  7.  
  8. I will assume that you have a understanding of Java so I will not go into the
  9. instalation procedures in depth.
  10.  
  11. Start the tool by the command line prompt
  12.  
  13. java Quake2Tool
  14.  
  15. The first dialog is a prompt for the 'pak' file
  16.  
  17. The next dialog is a prompt for the output directory and the output log file
  18.  
  19. This will bring the Quake 2 Tool frame
  20.  
  21. From here type a pattern in the textfield and press the List button. This will list the files
  22. matched by the pattern
  23.  
  24. Select any number of files in the list box and press the Unpack button. This will unpack the
  25. selected files to the output directory and create a log file of which files has been
  26. extracted.
