  3. This release of GNAT runs on either Windows'95 or Windows NT (3.5 or above).
  4. It supports tasking.  It contains all the libraries you need to
  5. do Ada programming, but the libraries for direct calls to the Win32 API
  6. are available separately from LabTek.
  7.  
  8. Please can an eye on the updates subdirectory for changes/improvements
  9. in the release.  
  10.  
  11. After running the setup program, use notepad to read the readme.txt
  12. file in the top level GNAT directory.

  15. FTP DISTRIBUTION FILES:

  17. setup_gnat301a.exe - LATEST gnat/nt 3.01 (x86) including gcc-2.7.2
  18.                      (size = 6040812, checksum = 766982310)
  19. xvi.tar.gz         - vi editor for NT (variable size window)
  20. copying            - GPL (also included in setup)
  21. copying.lib        - Library GPL (also included in setup)
  22. chk.exe            - counts bytes and does simple checksum of file
  23. split.exe          - splits a file into smaller parts (can be used
  24.                      go breakup the setup executable)

  26. UPDATES subdirectory:  This directory is for the benefit of those that
  27.   obtained a release that has been partially updated.  For example, if
  28.   a improved version of the gcc.exe front-end has been created, this
  29.   file can be downloaded without having to transfer the entire distribution.

  31. src - subdirectory:
  32.   Contains diff of the files LabTek changed to port gcc/gnat/gas to NT.

  34. old - contains old version of gnat, and several utilities now included
  35.   in the distribution, and a few no longer needed like "tar".
