  2.      **** Presentation Manager bindings for Ada95 ****

  4. This free "entry level" set of bindings is designed to help developers
  5. make an early entry into using Ada95 and writing PM applications.
  6. As part of the release, several executables are included demonstrating
  7. (at a simple level, anyway) the efficiency and execution speed of
  8. the free Ada95 compiler.

  10. This set of bindings assumes the developer has a rudimentary knowledge
  11. of both PM programming and Ada95.  This release also requires, as a
  12. minimum, GNAT 2.04 (the GNU Ada95 compiler).  If you do not have this
  13. version, download it (or later versions) from cs.nyu.edu, look under
  14. /pub/gnat.

  16. The bindings themselves can be found at cs.nyu.edu under 
  17. pub/gnat/contrib/os2/PM.  In the contrib area, you'll also find
  18. the ada-mode emacs extensions which works well with PM Emacs for OS/2.

  20. Ada95 is worth scrutinizing for OS/2 developers who desire the speed
  21. of C++ but also want a language less cryptic and more reliable.  More
  22. information about the Ada95 programming language can be found at

  24. programming language reference, rationale, tutorials, and many other
  25. goodies.
