  1. Ada in the Cairo and Calcutta Metro Systems

  5. The Cairo and Calcutta subway networks will soon be run by Alsys Ada.
  6. GEC-Alsthom recently purchased AdaWorld for native environments on HP
  7. 9000/400 and cross development environments for SPARC and 386-hosted to
  8. Intel/Multibus II environments to develop the centralized command
  9. systems for the subway networks. A team of fifteen software engineers,
  10. writing an estimated several hundred thousand lines of Ada code, will be
  11. responsible for applications that ensure railway traffic control. In
  12. addition to train flow and schedule regulations, the program will
  13. include data collection for establishing statistics.

  15. Developed on behalf of the Egyptian National Railways and with the
  16. cooperation of the consulting agency, National Authority for Tunnel, the
  17. Ramses project involves the Regional Express Railway line which is 40
  18. kilometers long and equipped with 33 railway stations that link the
  19. north and south suburbs of the Egyptian capital.

  21. The project for Calcutta, ordered by Metro Railway of Calcutta, includes
  22. the Metropolitan Railway line serving the Indian metropolis.
