  1. If you are on Solaris or NeXT-Step/Apple Rhapsody,
  2. you must disable volume management before creating a CD.
  3.  
  4. This is needed because newer drives identify themselves correctly
  5. as CD-ROM drives. Unfortunately, the volume management daemon from
  6. Sun/Apple does not grok, that there may be a recordable medium in the drive.

  8. You do this on Solaris permanently by editing /etc/vold.conf
  9. NeXT-Step/Apple Rhapsody will only work correctly if you reboot while
  10. the CD-R drive is powered off.
