  3. This is the final release of AMU.  It's been a lot of fun and I've learned
  4. a lot, but it's time to move on.  This has always been a hobby for me 
  5. since I was in high school, and I always said that when it wasn't fun 
  6. anymore, it was time to stop.  There are too many other things going on
  7. now, and my life has begun to take some new directions.  It's been a difficult
  8. decision, but I believe it's also the right one.

  10. All registration codes have been removed from the executables and this version
  11. of AMU is being released as freeware.  In addition, the full source code is
  12. being released to the public domain as well.  The files released are:

  14. AMU320D.ZIP (DOS/DPMI version)
  15. AMU320P.ZIP (OS/2 version)
  16. AMU320W.ZIP (Windows version)
  17. AMUSRC.ZIP  (Source code)

  19. To upgrade from the previous 3.16 version of AMU, all you need to do is 
  20. copy the new executables over the old ones.  There were a few minor things
  21. fixed, but nothing big.  AMU is Y2K compliant, so that should not pose a
  22. problem in the coming months.

  24. I know there will be some who will berate me for calling it quits, but this
  25. was never intended to be a life-long endeavor.  With the full source code
  26. available, hopefully some fresh blood will take over where I've left off.
