-
-
- Ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to announce that WEBUTIL 1.10 has
- been released! This version offers lots of new featuers and, of course,
- we have fixed all the little bugs in the previous versions. The Windows
- 98 version of WebUtil is also finally ready!
-
- You can download your version of WEBUTIL at any of the registration
- sites and from our ftp and web sites, which you can find at
- ftp.allfix.com and www.allfix.com, respectively.
-
-
- PLEASE NOTE: Our telephone number has changed to: +31-50-5496373.
-
-
- WEBUTIL is a quick and easy to use HTTP and FTP robot that can be used
- to upload and download files and websites. For example, it makes it easy
- to synchronize the contents of a directory with an FTP site!
- Configuration of WebUtil is done via a small simple text file.
-
- WEBUTIL is available for OS/2 and Windows 95/98/NT. Both executables
- are included in the release archive.
-
- You can file request WEBUTIL using the magic name WEBUTIL.
-
- At the end of this message you will find a list of the registration
- sites.
-
- Below is a list of the most important changes that have been made to
- WebUtil, since the previous version was released. For a complete log of
- all the changes, please refer to the UPDATE.LOG file.
-
-
- WEBUTIL sometimes was not able to determine the files located on an
- FTP site. This usually happend on slow connections. A new verb has
- been added that can be used to specify the time that WEBUTIL should
- wait for data from a LIST command, which is used to determine the
- files on the FTP server.
-
- FTP sites and Web sites can now be specified in the INI file using
- IP addresses as well as by their URL's.
-
- If you specify the name of an alternative INI file on the command
- line, WEBUTIL will assume the extension ".INI" if you leave out that
- extension.
-
- Sometimes, when trying to download or upload a file from an FTP
- server WEBUTIL would not be able to establish a data channel. In
- order to compensate for that, it will now try setting up a data
- channel 3 times.
-
- The delay that WEBUTIL waits between an unsuccessful login attempt
- and the next attempt is now user definable.
-
- A special debug log option has been added that will record all of
- the data sent and received from an HTTP or FTP server. The actual
- content of a file transferred to or from an FTP server is not
- logged.
-
- The user interface has been altered so that more information can be
- displayed on the screen, making it easier for you to determine what
- WEBUTIL is doing.
-
- It is now possible to specify alternative port numbers for HTTP and
- FTP sites.
-
-
- The current WEBUTIL registration sites are:
