  1. Simple Shutdown for OS/2

  3. This program was designed primarly for touchscreen
  4. operated OS/2 systems and to help ease technology
  5. shock to new OS/2 users on these systems.

  7. You don't need a touchscreen to operate Simple
  8. Shutdown, it will also work with a mouse, keyboard
  9. or voice navigation.
  10.  
  11. What does this program do?
  12.  
  13. It provides a simple, graphical selection of shutdown
  14. and reboot of OS/2 to the operator and, primarly, new
  15. OS/2 users.

  17. Installation:
  18.  
  19. Unzip the archive into a directory of your choice. Open
  20. an OS/2 window, change to the directory where Simple
  21. Shutdown is located at and enter INSTALL. This will put
  22. the Simple Shutdown icon in the center of the desktop.
  23. Drag it to a place where you can easily access it, if
  24. you want to shutdown or reboot your computer.

  27. Program Operation:
  28.  
  29. When you start the program you will see three buttons. The SHUTDOWN
  30. button will shutdown the system immediately. There is NO prompting
  31. for confirmation. This button uses the REXX SHUTDOWN command to
  32. shutdown the system. The REBOOT button will reboot the OS/2 system
  33. using the REXX command SETBOOT /B. NO prompting for confirmation
  34. will take place. The CANCEL button will cancel and close
  35. Simple Shutdown.

  37. Simple Shutdown will work with a touchscreen (simply touch the buttons),
  38. keyboard (use TAB to select the buttons, then press enter), mouse and
  39. speech commands! Choose whichever works best for you.

  42. Uninstalling Simple Shutdown.

  44. To uninstall and remove Simple Shutdown, simply delete the icon
  45. on the desktop and delete all files listed below.

  55. Simple Shutdown for OS/2 is free. I have tested this program and found it
  56. to work without problems; however, use it "AS IS". No warranty is given
  57. and I will not be held responsible for any damage this program may
  58. cause on your equipment.
