  10. to support this program no more.

  12. (Due to not beeing an native speaker, there could be some
  13. mispelled words or phrases in the file, please send me your
  14. corrections).

  22. PEERFAQ.ZIP (available at http://www.w-4.de/~tbaumann) 
  23. with lots of tips'n tricks.

  25. Naturally the infos in OS2CFG*.DAT can't be complete.
  26. At the moment there are only rare informations for MMOS, 
  27. JAVA and NETWORK Parameters. As soon as I get the time and the 
  28. informations (please mail all your tips'n tricks to stadt@ibm.net)
  29. this will be done in the future.

  31. Btw. I mention only FREE Software in the Dat-File, thats not 
  32. because I'm against commercial products, it's more an praise
  33. to all those developers around the world who made great 
  34. solutions without commercial interests.

  36. INSTALLATION:  See README.TXT.

  38. REXX MUST BE INSTALLED ON YOUR SYSTEM FOR THIS PROGRAM TO WORK!
  39. ALSO VROBJ.DLL (the last version is dated 19.09.95 and should work
  40. fine, with earlier versions you could get some errors) MUST RESIDE
  41. EITHER IN YOUR /OS2/DLL path or in the directory where you've
  42. unzipped Configinfo.

  44. CNFGINFO.EXE is a CONFIG.SYS information utility.  When the program
  45. is launched, it loads your CONFIG.SYS file into window #1 (top 
  46. window) and the latest version of OS2CFGx.DAT (where "x" is the 
  47. version number) into window #2 (bottom window).  You must use 
  48. version 8 of OS2CFGx.DAT or later (e.g. OS2CFG9.DAT).

  50. !! As the analize and the resulting tips for your config.sys are
  51. !! hardcoded in CNFGINFO.EXE all new recommendations in the *.dat
  52. !! file aren't recognised, so you have to read OS2CFG15.DAT
  53. !! additionally . (But maybe somebody - hello developers - 
  54. !! wants to write a new version with updated recommendations, or
  55. !! even better where the base for analizing is an updatable file,
  56. !! please contact me at stadt@ibm.net as I've some more ideas)

  58. Once CNFGINFO.EXE loads both files, simply click on any 
  59. CONFIG.SYS statement in window #1 and, if available, a full 
  60. description of that item along with tips, notes, warnings and other 
  61. information will be presented in window #2. Naturally not all items 
  62. can be covered, but much is.
  63.  
  64. This programs also lets you edit, print, backup, and analyze your 
  65. CONFIG.SYS file plus lots more.

  67. Please note that you do not need this program to see the information 
  68. in OS2CFG15.DAT.  OS2CFG15.DAT is a fully readable text file full of 
  69. lots of good stuff.
