  21.          Full instructions are included in the online help for
  22.          registering your copy of File Freedom.  A blank order form
  23.          suitable for printing is included with the file package.
  24.          It is now also possible to register through BMT Micro via the
  25.          internet, phone, fax or mail.  See the BMTMicro.frm also
  26.          included in the file package for details.
  27.          Registration fee is $20.00.
  28.          Registration now entitles each purchaser to unlimited free
  29.          upgrades.  In other words, pay once only.

  128. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
  129.          File Freedom is a fast, very inexpensive, PM file manager with
  130.          an uncluttered, easy-to-use interface.  It is designed to be a
  131.          quick and efficient utility that excels in file management
  132.          and is also easy to use.  Yet, it does not skimp on features.
  133.          In fact, you will find in File Freedom advanced features not
  134.          found in other file managers.  It also provides two
  135.          harmonious, yet distinct methods of file management:
  136.          Drag and Drop for those who prefer it, and its native method
  137.          which is quite fast and easy.

  139.          To make it easy for you to decide if this is the file manager
  140.          you need, it comes in a completely functional Demo form,
  141.          without reminders or limitations, that works for a period of
  142.          30 days.  An Install Program puts File Freedom on your
  143.          desktop quickly and easily. If it suits your needs, this Demo
  144.          form can be upgraded to a Registered form with the addition of
  145.          a registration code available via Email, Fax or mail.  If you
  146.          try File Freedom and it just doesn't suit your needs, an
  147.          Uninstall Program is also included to make the test drive
  148.          painless.

  150.          In addition to the basic file operations such as copy, move,
  151.          rename, delete and changing attributes, File Freedom also
  152.          supports advanced features such as the capability to look
  153.          inside a zip file WITHIN a zip file, and configurable timers
  154.          to automatically refresh the drive table and file folders if
  155.          you are using File Freedom on a network.  Other recent
  156.          features include a system of Directory Bookmarks that allow
  157.          quick access to frequently used directories, an Auto-Scroll
  158.          implementation that speeds selecting or unmarking of files
  159.          with the mouse, and an Append operation that allows text files
  160.          to be joined together.

  200. UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS
  201.          If you are currently a registered user of File Freedom, or
  202.          currently trying out the Demo version, use File Freedom to
  203.          Unzip the zip package to a temporary directory.
  204.          After the files are unzipped, shut down File Freedom and then
  205.          run the supplied UPDATE.CMD file which will prompt for the
  206.          home directory and then copy over the pertinent files for you.
  207.          The FILEFRDM.INI file will not be changed in this process.

  209. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  210.          First, from an OS/2 command line, change to the directory
  211.          that contains the unzipped files.  File Freedom can be
  212.          installed in Demo mode simply by running the program from
  213.          it's home directory, but in that case a Desktop Object will
  214.          have to be created manually from a template.  Using the
  215.          installation program however, will copy the necessary files
  216.          to the directory of your choice and create a Desktop Object,
  217.          all in one easy step.  No changes are made to the CONFIG.SYS
  218.          file.  If the directory does not exist, it will be created
  219.          during installation.
  220.          Installing the registration number also requires the use of
  221.          the installation program.  If registering, choose the
  222.          directory of your choice for installation. If the directory
  223.          is the same as the directory a demo was installed in, all
  224.          program settings will be preserved.
  225.          Once the program is installed, double-click on the program
  226.          Icon to start the program and press F1 once started. A Help
  227.          screen is displayed and an overview of File Freedom is the
  228.          first item in the Online Help. Links to all areas of Help can
  229.          be accessed from there or from the Help Menu.
  230.          Context-Sensitive Help is also displayed during any task by
  231.          pressing F1.

  233. UNINSTALLING FILE FREEDOM
  234.          In the event that, for whatever reason, it is desirable to
  235.          remove File Freedom from your system, this is very easy.
  236.          Simply run the UNINSTAL.EXE program from the directory that
  237.          File Freedom has been installed into.  It will remove the
  238.          program related files, remove the Desktop Object and clean
  239.          all references to itself from the OS2.INI file.  At the end
  240.          of this operation, the uninstall program itself must be
  241.          deleted manually.

  243. GETTING INFO-ZIP's ZIP 2.1 and UNZIP 5.2
  244.          File Freedom will only support versions of Info-Zip's
  245.          compression /decompression set later than Zip 2.1 and
  246.          Unzip 5.2.  These can be found at various ftp sites
  247.          (zip21x2.zip and unz520x2.exe) but the latest versions are
  248.          always available at: ftp.uu.net/pub/archiving/zip

  250. VIEWERS
  251.          By default, File Freedom is set to use the OS/2 multimedia
  252.          viewers for examining multimedia files.  Some may prefer
  253.          other, more capable, viewers however.  A very capable and
  254.          fast freeware graphic viewer is GBMV written by Andy Key.
  255.          It is available on Hobbes (hobbes.nmsu.edu) as
  256.          "os2/graphics/gbm.zip". Many other freeware and shareware
  257.          file viewers can also be found there.
