  5.  
  6.      You must have Rexx support installed to run this program. Rexx is 
  7.       normally part of the default installation of OS/2. If Rexx is not 
  8.       installed you must go to Selective Install and install support for it 
  9.       there. 
  10.  
  11.      If you don't have the Enhanced E installed on your system you MUST run 
  12.       the install procedure to setup the editors to function properly. This is 
  13.       now required before the program will run. 
  14.  
  15.      This version includes a changed ini file structure that needs to be set 
  16.       up by the install procedure. 
  17.  
  18.  If you haven't done so already unzip the archive in any directory and run 
  19.  "install". You may install to the directory you started the install operation 
  20.  from or key in a new directory to install this program to. The install program 
  21.  will create the directory (1 deep) if needed and copy the files to it. In the 
  22.  interest of avoiding adding to your already long Path statement three files 
  23.  are copied to other directories. The EEE.EXE and EE.EXE files are copied to 
  24.  the \os2 directory and the EEE.HLP file is copied into the \os2\help 
  25.  directory. These files are less than 250k total in size. If you will not be 
  26.  using these editors from the command line, these three files may be deleted 
  27.  from those locations. The uninstall procedure will also remove them if and 
  28.  when you decide to uninstall the editors.

  32.  The Install program also has an uninstall procedure as mentioned previously. 
  33.  The uninstall will:

  35.      Remove any desktop references to the editor(s) you've chosen to uninstall 
  36.      Remove any files it may have placed elsewhere on your drives 
  37.      Remove the chosen editor(s) desktop objects 
  38.  
  39.  After running the "uninstall" you may delete the Enhanced E directory and any 
  40.  files that you may have moved.

  44.  The install routine also gives you a choice of default editors. This item is 
  45.  disabled unless you bypass it at the command line. At this point it only works 
  46.  if the OS/2 System Editor is the only editor on the system. DO NOT use it if 
  47.  your text files have other associations attached to them! If there are no 
  48.  other editors on your system that have an association to "plain text" files 
  49.  the Enhanced E may fill that void just by having an object created. To remedy 
  50.  either situation, there is a neat utility by Henk Kelder called "assoed03.zip" 
  51.  at the PillarSoft site or on Hobbes in "/os2/editors' that will change any 
  52.  associations. 
  53.  
  54.  There are some data files that don't seem to "take" to a different default 
  55.  editor without changing them individually, I am studying this. The default 
  56.  change worked fine on my other machine with only the "E" System Editor 
  57.  installed on it but I can make no garantees. It is not fool proof yet so avoid 
  58.  it and use "assoed03.zip" unless you have alot of guts and are good at fixing 
  59.  messes. BE WARNED! It may negatively affect your system. If you try this 
  60.  please let me know if it works one way or the other. The install program 
  61.  parameter to make it work is " def". 
  62.

  65.  REMEMBER, the safest way to make the Enhanced E or Enhanced EE the default 
  66.  editor for the time being is to use Henk Kelders "Association Editor".

  68.   It is only 40k in size and available on Hobbes "/editors/assoed03.zip" or on 
  69.  the psoft website.

  80. The Enhanced E Editor (EE.EXE, freeware) is a 32 bit multi-threaded editor much 
  81. like the OS/2 "E" system editor with a few enhancements. Some of the Enhanced 
  82. E's features are: 
  83.  
  84.      PRINT FILE - Allows you to print the file presently loaded. Why wasn't 
  85.       this included in "E" the OS/2 System Editor? 
  86.  
  87.      PRINT SELECTED - Prints the text that is presently highlighted. This is 
  88.       helpful when you just want to print a small section of a larger file. 
  89.  
  90.      PRINTER SETUP - Allows you to change the settings on the system default 
  91.       printer only. 
  92.  
  93.      POPUP MENU - Right mouse button brings up a menu with all commands. Menu 
  94.       function help tips are also available on the 'tips' bar at the bottom of 
  95.       the window. 
  96.  
  97.      TIME & DATE - Insert Time or Date from menues or hot keys. 
  98.  
  99.      HELP TIPS - As mentioned above.

  101.      FILE NAME - The full path and name of the loaded file is referenced in 
  102.       the titlebar.

  121.  The Enhanced EE Editor (EEE.EXE, commercial product) is has everything the 
  122.  Enhanced E Editor has with a few other improvements. Here are some of it's 
  123.  features. 
  124.  
  125.      PRINTER SETUP - Allows you to choose a printer and change it's properties 
  126.       including printing to a fax program. 
  127.  
  128.      PRINT FORMAT - Allows you to set a Title, header and footer. Also set the 
  129.       number of copies and font (if supported by your printer) . 
  130.  
  131.      TOOLBAR - One button access to the most often used commands. Toolbar 
  132.       button function help tips are available on the 'tips' bar at the bottom 
  133.       of the window. 
  134.  
  135.      SEARCH BY LINE # - A search dialog that allows you to find a particular 
  136.       line # in a file. Handy for system or compiler errors that are referenced 
  137.       by line number in a file. 
  138.  
  139.      SAVE TRACKING - The EEE Editor knows when you have made changes and 
  140.       haven't saved your file. It will give you the opportunity to save it 
  141.       before opening a new file, starting a new file or exiting the program.

  143.      AUTOSAVE - Set the AutoSave feature "ON" to save your work at specified 1 
  144.       minute intervals from 1 to 60 minutes. 
  145.  
  146.      SAVE SELECTED - Save selected text to a temorary file for later 
  147.       processing. 
  148.  
  149.      OPEN TEMP FILE - Opens temp file created by "Save selected". 
  150.  
  151.      TIME, DATE, NAME & SIG FILE - Insert Time, Date, Name or a Signature file 
  152.       from menues or hot keys.

  165.      FILE HISTORY - One of the really nice features of EEE. The file history 
  166.       tracks the most recently loaded files for quick retrieval. It keeps the 
  167.       last "x" number (user selected) files used in 'most recently loaded' 
  168.       order. The limit will allow you to keep the combobox and ini file from 
  169.       getting too unwieldy. The user can set his own limit in the full version. 
  170.       Really helpful for editing or reading several files in a group. The 
  171.       unregistered version has a built in limit of 10 files. 
  172.  
  173.      MULTIPLE LANGUAGE SUPPORT - Language support for menu items that make the 
  174.       Enhanced EE seem native to your tongue. See "PseeLang.zip" at the 
  175.       PillarSoft page for more information.

  177.      PRESENTATION MODE -  Switches editor to full screen view from the menu or 
  178.       by hot key <Ctrl+p>. 
  179.  
  180.      HTML CODE STRIPPING SUPPORT - Strip html code from files while they are 
  181.       loaded thanks to Otto Raeder's HTM2TXT that plugs right into the Enhanced 
  182.       EE Editor.

  184.      TEXT TO IPF - Convert any text file to IPF format for use with the IBM 
  185.       Information Presentation Facility.

  187.      CODE TEMPLATES - A code template tool is built right in. It is is user 
  188.       extendable and allows you to pass code snippets etc. (or any type of text 
  189.       for that matter) to the edit window.

  191.      BUBBLE HELP - Text boxes automatically popup to help identify toolbar 
  192.       items as the mouse passes over them. 
  193.  
  194.      RUN COMMAND - Brings up a command line dialog to run programs without 
  195.       leaving the editor.

  202. Click on "Search" to find help on any particular item. 
  203.  
  204. Most of the controls have a tip on the message bar at the bottom of the screen 
  205. and are otherwise pretty well understood by most experienced computer users. If 
  206. you look down there you'll see the tips as you move your mouse over the menu's 
  207. and buttons. If you don't look down there you'll actually be able to see what 
  208. you're doing and hit the mark most of the time with your mouse clicks.

  211. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.1. Bubble Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  213. BUBBLE HELP 
  214.  
  215. As the mouse passes over the toolbar, textboxes popup to help identify each 
  216. button. This can be toggled on or off from the "Settings" dialog. The bubble 
  217. help boxes close when the mouse returns to the edit window or they time out. If 
  218. the mouse movement is too quick (generally sliding sideways and down) sometimes 
  219. they will not toggle off as they may be to quick for the trap that awaits them. 
  220. In this situation they will still only remain on for a few seconds and then 
  221. toggle off automatically. The bubble help seemed to lose it's bearings during 
  222. testing when there were many resizing events performed back to back. This 
  223. shouldn't occur during normal useage but if it does just maximize the window 
  224. and it should correct itself.

  229. CHANGING COLORS 
  230.  
  231. The color selection utility allows you to choose from a sixteen color palette. 
  232. The utility will show the example text in the colors you choose by clicking on 
  233. a selection from the Foreground and Background listboxes. You may elect to 
  234. "SET" new colors or "Cancel" a color change. Be aware that if you hit the "SET" 
  235. button without choosing new colors the edit window will set to the default 
  236. Black on White mode. 
  237.  
  238.      SET - If you decide to keep a new color selection, click on "Set" and the 
  239.       new selection will be saved. 
  240.  
  241.      APPLY - To preview your selection in the Enhanced EE Editor window click 
  242.       on "Apply". This is sort of the "Free home trial" of color selection. The 
  243.       colors you apply will not "stick" until you click the "Set" button. 
  244.       Choose as many combinations as you like and preview them. 
  245.  
  246.      CANCEL - If you decide you don't want to change, click on "Cancel" and 
  247.       your original colors will be cheerfully refunded. 
  248.  
  249.      HELP - Brings a small popup help panel. 
  250.  
  251.      "I WANT A DIFFERENT COLOR!" - The Enhanced EE Editor will support more 
  252.       (up to 16 million) colors for the background through drag and drop 
  253.       actions from your desktop Color Palette if your monitor/video card will 
  254.       allow it. First choose the text or "ForeGround" color from the built in 
  255.       "EEE Color Palette" then open the "OS/2 System Color Palette", choose or 
  256.       edit a color and drop it on the edit window. The new color will be saved 
  257.       in the ini file. If you change your text or "Foreground" color AFTER 
  258.       dropping from the color palette you'll end up with one of the sixteen 
  259.       base colors and have to re-drag and drop your new background.

  264. CHANGING FONTS 
  265.  
  266. Press the "Font" button on the toolbar or on either menu select "Options", 
  267. "Set", "Set Font" to open the font dialog. Choose your new font from the font 
  268. dialog and click "OK". The new font setting will be saved. Notice that the edit 
  269. field and history combobox can have two different fonts and must be changed 
  270. separately. The history combobox font dialog is accessed from the "Settings" 
  271. dialog.

  276. CHANGING SETTINGS

  278. When the settings dialog opens you will notice that you can toggle the WordWrap 
  279. on/off, set the TabStop, turn AutoSave on/off, set the File History Limit, 
  280. toggle the bubble help, add a name for inserting and find a signature file for 
  281. insert. Notice also that the file statistics (EE only, EEE file stats are in 
  282. the  "Find, by Line#" menu item) are updated as you edit. When finished 
  283. selecting your settings press the exit button and the settings will be in 
  284. effect. 
  285.  
  286.      WORD WRAP - Toggles WordWrap on or off. This may also be toggled from the 
  287.       menu. 
  288.  
  289.      TABSTOP - Sets size of the tab in the editor in characters. 
  290.  
  291.      AUTOSAVE - Toggles AutoSave on/off and sets the interval in minutes 
  292.       between saves. The spin button selects the number of minutes between 
  293.       automatic saves or you can type the number in. It is only enabled when 
  294.       the "AutoSave" checkbox is checked. The light just to the left of the 
  295.       File History combobox will light up during any disk activity the EEE 
  296.       creates. AutoSave is available only in the EEE editor. Be careful using 
  297.       AutoSave, it saves mistakes too... (EEE) 
  298.  
  299.      HISTORY LIMIT - Sets the limit of file names and locations that are 
  300.       tracked in the File History combobox. The limit was installed as a 
  301.       measure against having an ini file with so many names that it degrades 
  302.       loading performance and creates a huge unusable combobox. Set it to suit 
  303.       your taste and cpu. The shareware version of EEE has a built in limit of 
  304.       10 History Files stored the full version has no limit. (EEE) 
  305.  
  306.      HISTORY FONT - Opens the font dialog to set a new font for the History 
  307.       combobox. (EEE) 
  308.  
  309.      NAME - Enter the name to be used for "Insert - Name" (EEE) 
  310.  
  311.      SIG FILE - Enter the full path to the signature file to be used for 
  312.       "Options - Insert - Sig File..." or click on "Browse" to locate one. 
  313.       (EEE) 
  314.  
  315.      BUBBLE HELP - As the mouse passes over the toolbar, textboxes popup to 
  316.       help identify each button. This setting toggles bubble help "On" or 
  317.       "Off". (EEE)

  319.      CONFIRM SAVE - Uncheck to turn "File saved" dialog OFF after saving a 
  320.       file.

  322.      CONFIRM CLOSE - Uncheck to turn "Do you want to Exit?" dialog OFF at 
  323.       program exit.

  325.      CHANGED FILE - Uncheck to save changed files automatically at program end 
  326.       with no confirmation. (Dangerous... best left ON)

  328.      PRESENTATION - Uncheck to turn "Toggle Presentation mode with ctrl+p" OFF 
  329.       when switching to Presentation Mode.

  334. SEARCH BY KEYWORD OR LINE # (EEE only) 
  335.  
  336. Searches in documents can take on two forms. 
  337.  
  338. SEARCH BY KEYWORD - The search dialog for text lets you key in a word in the 
  339. "Find" field and if desired the "Change to" field allows you to change the 
  340. search word by confirming the change or by electing to change all instances of 
  341. the word from the present cursor position to the end of the document. Once the 
  342. search stops on the object word of its' search you can "Cancel" to end the 
  343. search or click "Find" again to search for the next instance of the word in 
  344. question. 
  345.  
  346. SEARCH BY LINE # - The search dialog for "Line #" searches shows you the number 
  347. of characters in the file and the number of lines. In the Enhanced EE a line is 
  348. defined as a string of characters located on the same row as opposed to a 
  349. string that ends in a carraige return/line feed pair. If you turn off the 
  350. wordwrap you can see just how long a true line can actually get in some cases. 
  351. The spin button will only allow you to choose a legal line #. You may also key 
  352. in any legal number in the spin button field. When the selection is made click 
  353. on "Goto Line #" to search or "Cancel" to close the dialog without a search.

  357. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.6. Presentation Mode ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  359. PRESENTATION MODE 
  360.  
  361. One of the truely neat things about IBM's WebExplorer was its' Presentation 
  362. Mode. I used it all the time, It was so nice to sit and read without so much 
  363. clutter all around. I only wish Netscape had thought to do the same. The 
  364. Enhanced EE Editor is equipted with a presentation mode that takes the edit 
  365. window to the full extents of your screen. It's not flashy, there is nothing 
  366. else to see, BUT... there is no clutter, just the text loaded in the editor. 
  367. You can still do almost everything you could do from the main window but all 
  368. commands go through the popup menu or the Hot keys. Just right click anywhere 
  369. on the screen for the popup. You can toggle the presentation mode on & off with 
  370. the "Control+p" key combination or from the menues.

  373. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.7. Multiple Language Support ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  375. MULTIPLE LANGUAGE SUPPORT 
  376.  
  377. Beginning with Beta v.11 the Enhanced E's offer multiple language support. At 
  378. this point only the menu items and bubble help text can be changed. The editors 
  379. look each time they start for a file called "LANGUAGE". If the file exists then 
  380. it is read into a stem variable and the menu items are updated with their new 
  381. names. There is a template for translation available at the PillarSoft website 
  382. called PseeLang.zip. It has about 65 commands to interpet. If you decide to try 
  383. it, let me know of the outcome.

  386. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.8. Html Stripping Support ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
  387.  
  388. HTML CODE STRIPPING SUPPORT 
  389.  
  390. Stripping html code is easy right from the desktop once you plug in HTM2TXT. 
  391. The htm2txt1.zip file can be downloaded from the PillarSoft site, Hobbes or any 
  392. of the usual OS/2 FTP sites. Just copy the "Htm2TxT.cmd" file into the Enhanced 
  393. E directory and the Enhanced E's will do the rest. Load any html (or htm) file 
  394. and click "Strip Html" or hit the hot key "Ctrl+h". The red light beside the 
  395. history list will glow while Htm2Txt is quietly working. Be aware that a large 
  396. file will take a few seconds to be processed. The TXT version of the file will 
  397. be saved with the original html files' name and a ".txt" extention in the 
  398. original files' directory.

  400. Htm2Txt has command line options if you want to investigate it further. The 
  401. editor sends commands that limit it to processing only the object file but it 
  402. will allow chaining of any files mentioned in the object htm file plus a few 
  403. other little goodies. 
  404.  
  405. Otto Raeder, the writer of Htm2Txt, has done a real nice job with this utility. 
  406. It would have taken alot of work to do what he has done so rather than reinvent 
  407. the wheel I asked Otto if I could include his code in this editor. He 
  408. graciously said "Go for it" but rather than do it that way (I'd feel like a kid 
  409. cheating on an exam!) I decided just to make the Enhanced EE work with it like 
  410. a plugin so I won't be inadvertantly taking credit for his work. He distributes 
  411. it freely and I would like to say thank you anyway to Otto, and thanks from the 
  412. OS/2 community for all your work. 
  413.  
  414. In keeping with the free nature of Otto's work the HTM2TXT command file has 
  415. been incorporated into the freeware version of the Enhanced E also. Hopefully 
  416. this combo will get alot of good, hard use out of the users of OS/2.

  419. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.9. Drag and Drop ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
  420.  
  421. DRAG AND DROP 
  422.  
  423. The Enhanced E's now support; 
  424.  
  425.      Dropping text files onto the desktop icon to start the editor with the 
  426.       selected text file loaded. 
  427.  
  428.      Dropping text files on the edit window while the editor is running. When 
  429.       a file is dropped on the edit window you will be asked if you wish to 
  430.       save the previously loaded file before the newly dropped file is loaded. 
  431.       The editors will only accept complete "plain text" files that physically 
  432.       exist somewhere on your drive. 
  433.  
  434.      Dropping text from other locations inside the edit window causing it to 
  435.       be rearranged. 
  436.  
  437.  You may now also drag selected (highlighted) text to; 
  438.  
  439.      Another editor or application that accepts dropped text. 
  440.  
  441.      The printer object. Makes sending a file to a different printer or fax 
  442.       easier than changing to another driver. With the file loaded just click 
  443.       on "Select All" and drag the file to your selected printer object. 
  444.  
  445.      The desktop to save snippets of information in temporary files. Each file 
  446.       dropped on the desktop gets a unique temporary name (up to one thousand 
  447.       unique names) that you can rename whatever you please. TIP: An easy way 
  448.       to rename icons (and the filename with it) is to hold down the <alt> key 
  449.       while left clicking the mouse on the icon. After editing the title, click 
  450.       the mouse elsewhere on the desktop to close the icons' entry field and 
  451.       save the new name. 
  452.  
  453.      Another location inside the edit window to "Move" text from place to 
  454.       place or to "Copy" text (by holding the <Control> key down while 
  455.       dragging) to another location in the editing field.

  460. CODE TEMPLATES

  462. The registered version of the Enhanced E has a bonus code template tool built 
  463. in. The template tool is outside the original scope of what the Enhanced E was 
  464. to become but it seemed to be a nice enhancement to the editor and will remain. 
  465.  
  466. To use the code template tool you must have code files installed in the 
  467. Enhanced E directory. (available free at the PillarSoft website or you can 
  468. build your own) Select the "Code Templates" menuitem fron the "Options" menu, a

  470. E directory, chose one and the code template will open with your selection. 
  471. There are three ways to transfer code from the template tool to the editor:

  473.      Double click on the entry you wish to use, it will be sent to the current 
  474.       cursor postion in the editor. This is by far the easiest method of 
  475.       transferring your choice to the edit window and one that is not 
  476.       implemented by any other editors that I know of. Double clicking will 
  477.       only send code to its' parent editor so if you have two or more instances 
  478.       of the Enhanced E running you may also run two or more different code 
  479.       types and they will only send information to their individual editors. 
  480.  
  481.      Highlight your choice, choose "Create link to clipboard" from the popup 
  482.       or "Options" menu and paste it into the editor. (always pastes to current 
  483.       cursor location) 
  484.  
  485.      You may also drag a snippet to the location of your choice in the editor. 
  486.       This is a very powerful method of inserting code exactly where you want 
  487.       it. 
  488.  
  489.  The template tool is extendable to allow it's use for many types of code or 
  490.  general information insertion. It follows a format widely used by other 
  491.  applications that will allow use of code from the other apps as well as making 
  492.  these code lists available elsewhere. 
  493.  
  494.  You can set up your own templates, add them together, modify them or even make 
  495.  templates that list taglines or jokes. It's up to you! If you have templates 
  496.  you would like to share with others, we can make them avaiable for you on the 
  497.  PillarSoft website.

  504. Registered users will find the Text to IPF conversion selection in the menu 
  505. under "Options". 
  506.  
  507. Open the text file you wish to convert and select "Text to IPF". A progress 
  508. indicator will pop up and after the work is done the file will be saved in the 
  509. same directory with, the same root filename, the extention ".ipf" and it will 
  510. automatically load the ipf file into the editor. This conversion, along with 
  511. the IPF code templates will give you a good start on converting existing files 
  512. to help files or online books etc. 
  513.  
  514. It is a work still in progress and is very slow as of yet.  Because it has to 
  515. test every character of the file, a 10k file can take up to a minute to do. Of 
  516. course it still beats doing it by hand all to heck. Try a small file first so 
  517. you know what to expect. On a p120 here we only get about 9k/minute. 
  518.

  521. As of version 1.04 speed has increased approximately ten fold and the output is 
  522. much improved over the initial attempt.

  524. We may add a compile button etc. to call the IBM Information Presentation 
  525. Facility for compilation if there is enough interest.

  529.      The IPF compiler doesn't like long lines. Shorten any long ones with 
  530.       carraige returns. (Lines are now truncated automatically as of version 
  531.       1.04)

  533.      The IPF conversion runs on it's own thread at normal priority. We may 
  534.       drop the thread priority in the future. It really pegs the cpu meter 
  535.       while it's hashing away.

  540. MIME DECODING 
  541.  
  542. Mime decoding (base 64) is available to registered users by highlighting the 
  543. mime section of any file and selecting the "Mime decode" menu item. The 
  544. decoding option is quite slow right now but hopefully we will find the same 
  545. increase in speed that we were able to find with the TXT2IPF services. 
  546.  
  547. This was added because of a local situation. My nephew sends WAV files once in 
  548. a while and they are always inline rather than attached. My emailer (MR2ICE) 
  549. does attachments beautifully but when they are in the message instead of 
  550. attached, I could find no way to get them decoded. I worked on a decoder enough 
  551. to get one working and put it in the editor. Now I could at least save the 
  552. message from my email as a file and use the editor to decode it. 
  553.  
  554. To decode a section of a file you must: 
  555.  
  556.      Highlight the portion of the file is is "mimed". 
  557.      Select "Mime decode" from the "Options" menu. 
  558.      Enter the target filename. 
  559.      Select the "Continue" button. 
  560.  
  561.  The mimed portion should be a solid block of characters that start on a new 
  562.  line and go all the way to the two "Equal" signs at the end. (No spaces) If 
  563.  the "equal" signs are not there it will still work but don't highlight any 
  564.  other characters or the decoding will not work. There is no way for me to make 
  565.  sure you only highlight the mime block but if you're careful, it should work. 
  566.  
  567.  To select large expanses of text you can remember a couple of tricks. Set the 
  568.  cursor just before the first character of the actual mime code. While holding 
  569.  down the <shift> and the <control> keys, press the <end> key. The highlighting 
  570.  should now be from the first character to the end of the file. If you need to 
  571.  deselect any characters at the end of the file you can use the arrow keys 
  572.  while the <shift> and the <control> keys are still depressed. 
  573.  
  574.  Conversely, the <home> key will take the highlight to the top of the file 
  575.  while the <shift> and the <control> keys are depressed. 
  576.  
  577.  There are no guarantees as to the usefulness or validity of this utility. I 
  578.  haven't been able to study the mime format in depth but have taken only enough 
  579.  time to learn enough about it to suit my needs elsewhere. It has been added to 
  580.  the editor in hopes that it will be useful to you.

  982.  
  983.      Did you use the install program? Try running it and see if that solves 
  984.       your problems. 
  985.  
  986.      If things still aren't working right try running install from the 
  987.       editors' home directory then choose "uninstall" then run install again 
  988.       and choose "update" or "new install". "Update" will recreate the system 
  989.       settings for the editors chosen. "New Install" will update system 
  990.       settings and recreate the folder and icons. Be sure the install directory 
  991.       information box has the correct directory entered. 
  992.  
  993.      If the install program chokes with an error message that says "routine 
  994.       not found" the most likely cause is a dll conflict with another program. 
  995.       The easiest way to overcome this is to reboot and run the install program 
  996.       before running anything else that may using the "rexxutil.dll" functions. 
  997.       The install program will unload any functions it loads upon its' 
  998.       completion. 
  999.  
  1000.      Is there a dot as the first entry of your LIBPATH statement in the 
  1001.       config.sys? example - LIBPATH=.;C:\OS2; This tells OS/2 to check the home 
  1002.       directory first. 
  1003.  
  1004.      Did you copy over ALL the old files if you had the Enhanced E installed 
  1005.       previously? With version .14 a new "Vprexx.dll" was introduced. Some 
  1006.       features will not work without this new dll. 
  1007.  
  1008.  All files for the Enhanced E's must reside in the installed directory with the 
  1009.  following exceptions: 
  1010.  
  1011.      The DLL files can be moved to the \os2\dll directory or to a directory 
  1012.       that you have setup in your path for "user.dll's" if you prefer but 
  1013.       shouldn't need to be moved. If you have more than one copy of a 
  1014.       particular dll, put the newest one in os2/dll or a user/dll directory to 
  1015.       save disk space. Before deleting the older dll, make sure all your 
  1016.       programs work with the newer one. 
  1017.  
  1018.      In order to use the Enhanced E's from the command line, OS/2 needs to 
  1019.       know where they are. Rather than adding to your already LONG Path 
  1020.       statement or adding an environment variable etc. The two files EE.EXE & 
  1021.       EEE.EXE are copied to your \OS2 directory. They are small and the effect 
  1022.       on your freespace will hardly be noticeable. If you do not forsee 
  1023.       yourself using them from the command line just delete them from the \OS2 
  1024.       directory to regain 200k. The uninstall will also remove these files. 
  1025.  
  1026.      This help file is copied into the \OS2\HELP directory so it is available 
  1027.       if you use the editors from the command line. If you do not forsee 
  1028.       yourself using them from the command line you may delete the help file 
  1029.       from the \OS2\HELP directory to regain 50k. The uninstall will also 
  1030.       remove this file. The help file can also be moved if desired to any 
  1031.       directory listed in the SET HELP statement in your config.sys.
