  1. Currently, the following problems are known to the developers of F-PROT:

  3. #1 Problem running F-PROT on some IBM ThinkPad models. 
  4.  
  5.    Some users of IBM ThinkPad machines have experienced a total failure
  6.    of F-PROT (DOS version) to run on their machines.  The reason is the
  7.    following: We use the CauseWay DOS extender program to create the DOS
  8.    version. The ThinkPad models in question run a program from SystemSoft
  9.    named CARDXTND.SYS.  If CARDXTND.SYS is running, no CauseWay application,
  10.    not even a simple "Hello World" program can be run.  In other words,
  11.    those programs are completely incompatible.  We do not know whether
  12.    the problem is with the CauseWay or the CARDXTND program, however.

  14.    There is nothing we can do to fix the problem, other than hoping that
  15.    one of the companies will fix their program, or provide a workaround.

  17.    In the meantime, CARDXTND.SYS must be disabled in order to run F-PROT
  18.    on those machines.
