  12. APM/2 allows you to put your workstation into APM standby, suspend or power 
  13. off mode under Warp 4. I emphasize Warp 4, as only that version has the
  14. required support in APM.SYS, other system files and the Kernel to successfully
  15. process APM requests.

  17. Under previous versions of OS/2 for APM power off requests, the filesystem 
  18. will not be closed correctly, causing a CHKDSK during the next reboot. And a
  19. tip from Frank Schroeder (OS/2 I/O Subsystem/Device Driver Development): "Do 
  20. not try to run the Version 4.0 APM device driver on OS/2 Warp Version 3.0 as 
  21. there are dependencies upon other system files including the os2krnl".

  23. The archive NLS.ZIP contains the following files:
  24. Apm.cpp ....... Source code
  25. Apm.def ....... Module definition file
  26. MakeGr.cmd .... Batch file to build German version
  27. MakeUs.cmd .... Batch file to build English version
  28. ApmGr.exe ..... German version executable of APM/2 (rename to APM.EXE)
  29. ApmUs.exe ..... English version executable of APM/2 (rename to APM.EXE)

  40. APM/2 erlaubt es Ihnen, Ihren Rechner unter Warp 4 in den APM standby, suspend
  41. oder power off Modus zu bringen. Die Betonung liegt auf Warp 4, da nur diese
  42. Version APM Funktionen in APM.SYS, anderen Systemdateien und im Kernel
  43. verarbeiten kann.

  45. Unter früheren Versionen fon OS/2 wird das Dateisystem bei APM power off
  46. Funktionen nicht korrekt abgeschlossen, was zu einem CHKDSK beim nächsten
  47. Hochfahren führt. Noch ein Tip von Frank Schroeder (OS/2 I/O Subsysteme/
  48. Gerätetreiber Entwicklung): "Versuchen Sie nicht den Version 4.0 APM Geräte-
  49. treiber unter OS/2 Warp Version 3.0 einzusetzen, da es auch Abhängigkeiten
  50. von anderen Systemdateien inklusive dem os2krnl gibt".
