  8. Problem:  JAM purge doesn't update the last read information.

  10. Affected: JAM bases. Last-read pointers of your users on the BBS
  11.           or local editor can point wrong.

  13. Solution: Do not purge JAM areas.

  17. This problem is not necessarily as serious as Ramon's description makes
  18. it sound.  I regularly use WTRUTIL to purge my JAM bases here and only
  19. an occasional area or two is ever affected (out of hundreds).  I suggest
  20. that you back up some areas, test them one at a time, and decide for
  21. yourself whether to use WTRUTIL to purge JAM bases, especially if you
  22. don't have another utility (e.g., RAMSG) to use.  In my opinion, this is
  23. a minor problem, but of course you should consider Ramon's warning, test
  24. for yourslef, and if you must be absolutely safe use some other utility
  25. if avaiable.
