  14.   This document contains a summary of the new features that this new version
  15.   of ALLFIX will offer.
  16.  
  17.   * Ability to use all different types of ALLFIX's with one set of
  18.     configuration files.
  19.  
  20.     1. It is possible to enter all the different types of keys in
  21.        ASETUP, and
  22.     2. It is possible to configure DOS and OS/2 compression programs.
  23.  
  24.   * Only one type of key file for all different types of ALLFIX's.
  25.  
  26.     This means that the OS/2 version no longer uses it's own special
  27.     .SCS file.
  28.  
  29.   * Ability to send mail and files via the internet.
  30.  
  31.     This option makes it possible to send mail and files encoded or not
  32.     via the internet using many different email clients. ALLFIX can be
  33.     used as a gateway to send mail and files to another part of the
  34.     world via the internet. It can also be used to send mail and files
  35.     to someone on the internet.

  37.     ALLFIX also has the ability to process file requests via the
  38.     internet. Simply send a message to an ALLFIX somewhere on the
  39.     internet, and receive your files via the internet, uuencoded.

  41.     Among the email clients supported by ALLFIX are:

  43.     Eudura, PMMail, PostRoad mailer, UUCP, SOUP, Net Tamer, and more!

  45.   * Extra features for the request processor
  46.  
  47.     1. Pkt passwords for Binkley style systems,
  48.     2. Ability to specify maximum online time per freq,
  49.     3. Ability to send CC of file request report to SysOp,
  50.     4. Smarter recompiling of REQUEST.IDX file for CD-ROM changers,
  51.     5. Lots of extra macros for the file request reports, and
  52.     6. Extra magic filename type SendOnFreq which can be used to send
  53.        files or templates along with file requests.

  55.   * Support for RAID style flags
  56.  
  57.     This feature makes it possible for ALLFIX to create FILEBONE.?? style
  58.     files, using a simple template.
  59.  
  60.   * More support for the following BBS programs:
  61.  
  62.     1. ShotGun,
  63.     2. Terminate BBS, and
  64.     3. Magic BBS (FCOMP only).

  66.   * Better support for the following BBS programs:

  68.     1. For RemoteAccess, Terminate BBS, Lora BBS, and ShotGun, ALLFIX
  69.        now uses the actual BBS file area number as used by the BBS. This
  70.        means that when adding new fileareas, the filefind file areas or
  71.        the BBS new file dirs in ALLFIX do not need to be re-configured.
  72.     2. File points for Renegade BBS.
  73.     3. FILEAREA.FIX file will be automatically updated when ALLFIX or
  74.        ASETUP thinks that it might be out of date.

  76.   * The ability to select more than one file area per entry in the BBS
  77.     new file dirs menu.

  79.   * The ability to select the file areas to scan each FileFind area.

  81.   * Enhanced the fileecho auto-add routines

  83.     1. Automatically determine fileecho descriptions from FILEBONE.NA
  84.        when auto-adding new fileechos.
  85.     2. The group selected when auto-adding a fileecho can now also be
  86.        based on the system where the fileecho came from.
