  4. Select from the following list, the operation that you would like help on:

  6.      Installing 
  7.      Upgrading 
  8.      Cleaning data files 
  9.      Moving 
  10.      Removing

  12.  The target directory specifies where FTP Browser will be installed or the 
  13.  target directory in a move operation. 
  14.  
  15.  The operation status window reveals whether the install procedure completed 
  16.  successfully or failed.

  18.  Note:  Make sure your system meets the system requirements before attempting 
  19.  to install.

  22. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. System requirements ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  24. Your system must meet the following minimal requirements in order to install 
  25. and use FTP Browser: 
  26.  
  27.      OS/2 Warp version 3 or 4 
  28.  
  29.            Presentation Manager 
  30.            TCP/IP 
  31.  
  32.      2 Mb free disk space 
  33.  
  34.  
  35. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Install ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  37. Enter the directory name where you would like FTP Browser installed. To start 
  38. the installation procedure, select install. The application's files will be 
  39. copied to the directory you specified and a folder will be created that 
  40. contains the program and manual objects. After installation check the operation 
  41. status window for any errors.

  43. To start FTP Browser simply open the folder that was created and click the 
  44. FTPBrowser object. Help may be obtained through the application's menu, 
  45. pressing F1 or clicking the Manual object in the folder.

  48. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Upgrade ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  50. To upgrade FTP Browser press the install button. When the upgrade is complete, 
  51. check the operation status window for any errors.

  54. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Cleaning data files ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
  55.  
  56. Select the clean button to cleanup your data files. Cleaning your data files 
  57. after upgrading to a new release can make reading from these files more 
  58. efficient when FTP Browser needs to access them. It is important that these 
  59. files are backed up before cleaning them. When the operation is complete, check 
  60. the operation status window for any errors.

  63. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Moving ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  65. Select the move button to move FTP Browser from its current path to a new 
  66. location. You must specify the new path that FTP Browser should reside in the 
  67. target directory field. This path must be different than the path that FTP 
  68. Browser was originally installed to and it will be created if it does not 
  69. exist. When the move operation is complete, check the operation status window 
  70. for any errors.

  73. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Remove ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  75. Select the remove button when you are ready to remove the program. Removing FTP 
  76. Browser will delete the application files from your hard drive, remove 
  77. application profile entries from the system files and delete the application's 
  78. objects from your desktop.

  81. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Target directory ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  83. Specifies where the program and data files are to be stored. For a move 
  84. operation it specifies the target directory that FTP Browser will be moved to. 
  85. This directory will be created if it does not currently exist. It must include 
  86. a drive letter and a fully qualified path name without the trailing slash. This 
  87. directory can not be the root directory of any drive.

  94. Displays informational messages during an installation procedure. Each entry 
  95. reveals whether an install function completed successfully or failed. This can 
  96. assist the user in tracing installation problems
