  1. Welcome to xboard and gnuchess for xfree86/os2 !

  3. To execute these programs, you need os2, the emx runtime environment and xfree86 for os2.
  4.  
  5. Problems like searching on special drive letters should be solved (hopefully) now.
  6. As you see, both programs are now provided in one package and fit both
  7. under the /xfree86 tree.
  8.  
  9. You need only the two executables xboard.exe and gnuchessx.exe and the files in the
  10. /xfree86/lib directory. If you want you can delete the other executables, they
  11. are different textmode versions of gnuchess and compiled with ncurses, which you might
  12. have not, so I don't know, if you can use them.

  14. One Problem still remains: gnuchessx is putting the computer under very heavy load, it is
  15. playable on my 133MHz Pentium with 64 Megs and not playable on our 486 DX 4 100 Mhz with
  16. 24 Megs where I work.

  25. The compiled version of xboard is 3.5.0 and the compiled version of gnuchess is
  26. 4.0 pl 77.
