  9. The following enhancements were added to the PM edition:
  10.   Support for viewing OS/2 .INF and .HLP files (converted to text).
  11.   Configurable colors (See the Color Settings item in the Options
  12.     menu).
  13.   Auto-recognition of self-extracting ZIP files.

  16. The following enhancements were added to the PM edition:
  17.   Added support for HTML (World Wide Web) files. The HTML conversion
  18.     goes beyond simply removing HTML tags.  Basic formatting
  19.     instructions are observed.  All extraneous line end characters and
  20.     spaces are removed, so that text flows naturally as if it were
  21.     from a word processing document.  Alternative text is extracted
  22.     from image tags.  All special characters are converted to their
  23.     ASCII counterparts in keeping with the current code page.
  24.     Preformatted text is preserved.  HTML files may be dragged
  25.     directly from the Web Explorer to a HyperView window.
  26.   Type CTRL+DOWN and CTRL+UP from the main text window to move the
  27.     cursor to the next or previous tagged line.
  28.   Adjustable tab settings.  (See the new Right margin/Layout menu item
  29.     in the View menu or type 'R'.)
  30.   Improved international support for rendering of accented characters
  31.     in Windows/DOS word processing files.  Accented characters are
  32.     properly mapped to the user's code page.
  33.   Detect new variant of Word6 file format.

  39. The following enhancements were added to the PM edition:
  40.   Option for enhanced integration with file manager programs.  Use the
  41.     /K startup option to make HVPM function like an extension of your
  42.     file manager.  Details in on-line help.
  43.   Drag and drop enabled.  To open a new file, drag it to an open
  44.     HyperView window and drop.
  45.   Enhanced gather.  Use the mouse, to gather words and phrases.
  46.   Customizable cursor keys. (Options menu / Preferences)
  47.   Separate PM executables for OS/2 Warp and above and for OS/2 2.1x.

  67. HyperView is now a Presentation Manager (PM) application.  Both the PM
  68.   and text mode editions of HyperView are included with this package.
  69. There is no charge for users of the text mode version to upgrade to
  70.   the PM version.  Registered users of earlier versions will, however,
  71.   require a new registration number.
  72. Minor bug fixes to the text mode version.

  75. Added support for Clearlook - The Cellular Word Processor.
  76. Added the '=' key (in addition to '+') for follow-up searches in the
  77.   forward direction.
  78. Fixed the display of zeros in hex view.

  80. A fast saved WinWord 6 document is now treated as an unrecognized word
  81.   processing format.

  84. Added hex viewer.  Press 'H' to switch to hex view; press 'H', Esc, or
  85.   Enter to return to text view.  While in hex view you may initiate
  86.   searches and jump to any file offset.
  87. To load a file raw (i.e. to defeat auto-recognition of word processing
  88.   and zip files), press F12 from the file or zip directory view, or
  89.   use the '/R' startup option.  The '/R' startup option now applies
  90.   only to the first file.  Use F12 to load subsequent files raw.
  91. Directory listings (both file and zip listings) may be sorted.  Press
  92.   F6 from the directory view.
  93. Added ability to read from standard input, e.g. DIR | HV.
  94. Added word wrap toggle.  The state of word wrap is maintained
  95.   separately for ASCII and word processing files.  Thus you may have
  96.   word wrap enabled for one and disabled for the other.
  97. To accommodate wide screen displays, HyperView now defaults to a right
  98.   margin equal to the screen width for ASCII files, and screen width
  99.   minus 5 for word processing files.  Separate right margin settings
  100.   are maintained for ASCII and word processing files.

  103. Added support for viewing ZIP files.  HyperView works in tandem with
  104.   Info-ZIP's UNZIP.EXE to view compressed files directly, without
  105.   making a copy on your hard drive.  Compressed files with long file
  106.   names and names with spaces may be viewed even on non-HPFS drives.
  107.   Encrypted archives are also supported (you supply the password).
  108. Changed operation of the Escape key.  Instead of Escape, F3 is used to
  109.   exit the program with confirmation.  Escape now backs up from full
  110.   screen view to directory.
  111. Added support for viewing special characters in DeScribe files.
  112. HyperView can now be registered by credit card through BMT Micro.  See
  113.   BMT.FRM for details.

  116. Fixes a subtle bug that occurred when performing (a) a search and tag
  117.   operation, (b) for a phrase, (c) in the forward direction, and
  118.   (d) an occurrence of the phrase in the text spanned more than one
  119.   line.

  122. Searches are even faster than before.  The increased speed will be
  123.   most noticeable on larger files and slower machines.
  124. Gather operations (similar to blocking text in a word processor) may
  125.   be initiated by holding down the shift key and pressing one of the
  126.   cursor keys (Up, Down, PgUp, PgDn, Home or End).
  127. Gathered text and tagged lines may be copied (overwriting the previous
  128.   contents) or appended (added to the end of the previous contents) to
  129.   the OS/2 clipboard or to a file.  Follow the on-screen instructions.
  130. Pressing the backslash key (\) takes you directly to the directory of
  131.   the current file, positioning the cursor bar on the current file.
  132. Added scroll bar to full screen view.  When the right margin setting
  133.   is less then the number of columns in the current video mode, a
  134.   conventional scroll bar is used.  When the right margin setting is
  135.   greater than or equal to the number of columns in the current video
  136.   mode, HyperView uses a virtual scroll bar.
  137. Ctrl-Right and Ctrl-Left scroll the screen right or left 5 columns.
  138. When the screen has been scrolled right, the home key returns the
  139.   screen to the far left.
  140. Exit HyperView from directory listing by pressing Alt-F4 or Alt-X.
  141. Warning added when attempting a clipboard operation that exceeds 64K
  142.   of text. (This is not a limitation of HyperView.  The OS/2 text
  143.   clipboard is limited to 64K of text.)
  144. Fixed disappearing cursor when HyperView is called from shell program.

  146. 1.03:
  147. Added interface with OS/2 clipboard.  Gathered text and tagged lines
  148.   may now be copied to the clipboard.  To enable the clipboard
  149.   feature, the file HVAUX.EXE must be installed in the same directory
  150.   as HV.EXE.
  151. Available commands no longer depend on the active view.  For example,
  152.   searches may now be initiated while in condensed or split screen
  153.   view.
  154. Easier to navigate directories.  Backspace moves to parent directory.
  155.   In addition, after changing to the parent directory, the cursor will
  156.   point to the former parent rather than moving to the top.
  157. Revised default color scheme. (Configurable colors are coming in a
  158.   forthcoming release.)
  159. Revised help screen in anticipation of adding pull-down menus to a
  160.   forthcoming release.
  161. Accelerated process of listing tagged lines to file.
  162. HyperView can now be run when OS/2 is booted from a floppy disk.

  169. Added file size, date and time to directory listing.
  170. Added capability to view a file in a new HyperView session.  Highlight
  171.   the file you wish to view in the directory listing, then press
  172.   Ctrl-Enter (or F9) to start (spawn) a new session.
  173. Added name of file being viewed to window task list.
  174. Added new command line option to set the number of lines of text on
  175.   screen.  The option takes the form "/Lnn", where nn is a number
  176.   between 25 and 60.
  177. Added new command line option to specify directory and/or file mask
  178.   for opening directory listing.  Instead of typing a file name on the
  179.   command line, type a path.
  180. Isolated carriage return character (ASCII 13) now treated as valid end
  181.   of line character.
