  283.  This option allow you to specify which
  284.  files to extract from the compressed
  285.  file. You may specify more the one
  286.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  287.  cards are allowed.

  289. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  290.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  291.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  292.  of files in a window.  After the window
  293.  is displayed you tag the files to
  294.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  295.  After all files have been tagged press
  296.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  297.  files.
  298.  
  299. *altg   !!search for string!!
  300.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  301.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  302.  characters using the program SGREP.COM
  303.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  304.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  305.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  306.  completed to results will be listed on the
  307.  screen. A normal or Regular Expression
  308.  search may be performed.  Regular Expression
  309.  searches are always case sensitive!!!!!
  310.  
  311. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  312.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  313.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  314.  of files in a window.  After the window
  315.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  316.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  317.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  318.  key to process the tagged files.
  319.  
  320. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  321.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  322.  files from the compressed file into the
  323.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  324.  via the ALT-P command.
  325.  
  326. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  327.  This options allows you to specify a disk
  328.  and directory of where any extracted files
  329.  will be placed.  Specify the extract path as
  330.  follows:
  331.  DISK:\DIRECTORY
  332.  Pressing any key other than the ENTER key
  333.  will clear the extract path. To display a
  334.  directory window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  335.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the F9 key.
  336.  A single * may be entered to tell SHEZ to
  337.  use it's floating extract location
  338.  logic.
  339.  
  340. *altr !!rename highlighted!!
  341.  The ALT-R command allows you to rename the
  342.  currently hilighted file in the compressed
  343.  file. You will be prompted for a new name.
  344.  
  345. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  346.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  347.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  348.  the window pops up enter a standard DOS
  349.  file search pattern and press the enter
  350.  key.
  351.  The display will be repositioned to the
  352.  first or next file that matches the
  353.  pattern.
  354.  
  355. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  356.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  357.  the tagged file display line at the
  358.  bottom of the screen.

  361.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  362.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  363.  of files in a window.  After the window
  364.  is displayed you tag the files to
  365.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.

  367.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  368.  files.

  371.  This option will display the master
  372.  comment record and the file comment
  373.  records for the selected compressed
  374.  file.

  377.  This option will extract ALL files from
  378.  the compressed file into the current
  379.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  380.  the ALT-P command.

  382. *alty   !!run pgm on tagged!!
  383.  This option allows run a program against
  384.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  385.  to enter the program name to run, the
  386.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  387.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  388.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  389.  to pause after each execution of your
  390.  program.
  391.  
  392. *altz  !!virus check!!
  393.  This option will check files to see if they
  394.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  395.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  396.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  397.  and have used the configuration program to
  398.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  400.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK
  401.  THE TAGGED FILES FOR INFECTION.

  404.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  405.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  406.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  407.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  408.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  409.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  410.  compressed file contents screen.
  411.  
  412. *c  !!create-new!!
  413.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  414.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  415.  to enter the
  416.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  417.  compressed file to create, whether you
  418.  want to add or move files into the new
  419.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  420.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  421.  new compressed file.
  422.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  423.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  424.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH,PAK
  425.  HAP, and UC2 files!!!!!
  426.  
  427.  You will also be asked if you want to
  428.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  429.  the entered file spec as is.
  430.  
  431.  If the compression program you choose
  432.  supports saving path information you will
  433.  also be asked if you want to save
  434.  directory information, and if you want to
  435.  recurse the directory tree.
  436.  
  437.  If you are converting from a ZIP to an ARJ
  438.  or a ARJ to a ZIP file you will also be
  439.  asked if you wish to preserve volume label
  440.  information that can be stored inside the
  441.  compressed file.  (THIS OPTION WILL ONLY
  442.  APPEAR WHEN CONVERTING THE CURRENTLY
  443.  HIGHLIGHTED FILE.  IT WILL NOT APPEAR IF
  444.  RUNNING UNDER OS/2.)
  445.  
  446.  
  447. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  448.  This option will delete all tagged files
  449.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  450.  asked to verify the delete before the
  451.  files are actually deleted from the
  452.  compressed file.
  453.  
  454. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  455.  This option will extract all tagged
  456.  files from the compressed file.
  457.  
  458. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  459.  This option will activate the alternate
  460.  file viewer if one has been defined in
  461.  the SHEZ.EV external file.
  462.  PLEASE SEE  THE USER MANUAL FOR
  463.  INSTRUCTIONS ON SETTING UP AN
  464.  ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  465.  
  466. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  467.  This option will set the compressed
  468.  file's time and date to the time and
  469.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  470.  the compressed file.
  471.  
  472. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  473.  This option will untag all currently
  474.  tagged files.
  475.  
  476. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  477.  This option will tag all files in the
  478.  currently displayed window.
  479.  
  480. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  481.  This option will convert a self
  482.  extracting file back to its native
  483.  compressed file format. The self
  484.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  485.  The normal compressed file will be
  486.  built on the same drive and directory
  487.  where self extracting file is found.
  488.  
  489. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  490.  This option allows you to copy all
  491.  tagged files from the current compressed
  492.  file into another compressed file.  The
  493.  target compressed file may be any
  494.  currently supported format.
  495.  
  496. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  497.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  498.  drop you off into disk and directory
  499.  that is specified as the extract
  500.  location.
  501.  
  502. *d  !!delete one file!!
  503.  This option will delete the currently
  504.  highlighted file from the compressed
  505.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  506.  delete before the delete is actually
  507.  done.
  508.  
  509. *e  !!extract one file!!
  510.  This option will extract the currently
  511.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  512.  drive and directory, or the
  513.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  514.  the ALT-P command.
  515.  
  516. *f      !!freshen!!
  517.  Using this option you can specify the
  518.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  519.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  520.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  521.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  522.  extensions.
  523.  
  524. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  525.  This option will temporarily exit to
  526.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  527.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  528.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  529.  the return key.
  530.  
  531. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  532.  This option will temporarily exit to
  533.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  534.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  535.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  536.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  537.  
  538. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  539.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  540.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  541.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  542.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  543.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  544.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  545.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  546.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  547.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  548.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  549.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  550.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  551.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  552.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  553.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  554.  
  555. *af2 !!smart extract
  556.  This option will invoke the smart extract function.
  557.  Smart extract will analyze the list of tagged
  558.  files and will attempt to fill the target
  559.  drive.  If all files will not fit on the target
  560.  drive a message will be displayed and the files
  561.  that could not be copied will remain tagged.
  562.  
  563. *f8  !!edit!!
  564.  This option will allow you to edit a
  565.  file in the compressed file.  This
  566.  option will only work if you specified
  567.  an editor to use when you configured
  568.  compressedPER.
  569.  
  570. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  571.  F9 allows you to indicate how to sort
  572.  the list.
  573.  ALT-F9 allows you to specify the sort
  574.  order for each sort type. The sort
  575.  order specified will remain in effect
  576.  until you exit SHEZ or re-specify.
  577.  
  578. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  579.  This option will allow you to set the
  580.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  581.  programs.  When you set the compression
  582.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  583.  change it again.
  584.  
  585.  
  586. *g  !!password!!
  587.  This option allows you to specify the password
  588.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  589.  compression program does not support passwords
  590.  an error window will appear informing you that
  591.  the option is not supported.
  592.  
  593. *i  !!show info!!
  594.  This option will show information about
  595.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  596.  files in file, total size of all files,
  597.  time and date of compressed file, etc.
  598.  
  599. *m     !!mode!!
  600.  Using this option you can specify the
  601.  file(s) you wish to MOVE into to the
  602.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  603.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  604.  cards are allowed for filenames and
  605.  extensions.
  606.  
  607. *o !!toggle overwrite!!
  608.  This option toggles overwrite mode. When
  609.  overwrite mode is active the letter "O"
  610.  will appear in the upper right corner of
  611.  the compressed display heading line.
  612.  When overwrite is active the uncompress
  613.  pgm will not ask you if you wish to
  614.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  615.  extract a file from the compressed file.
  616.  
  617. *p  !!path options!!
  618.  This option allows you to specify if you
  619.  want to save and/or use path information
  620.  when working with compressed files.
  621.  
  622. *q  !!immediate exit!!
