  24. Hi there and welcome to IMAIL 1.85 Gamma!

  26. First of all, please read this:

  28. There is a known problem with the Index structure which might cause
  29. a loss of areas in your Areaindex!!!!! You should run IMTHINGS.EXE
  30. PACK /P before any TOSS or SCAN run of IMAIL to prevent your data
  31. from getting lost!!!! I'm working on this problem, any problem
  32. reports on this one are welcome!!!
  33.  
  34. A special tool (AITOOL.EXE) is also provided which can be used to check
  35. the area index. The tool returns an errorlevel greater than zero when any
  36. kind of problem has been detected.
  37.  
  38. So far, the areas are not really lost but they disappear from the index
  39. used by IMAIL and IMAIL cannot find them anymore until IMTHINGS PACK /P
  40. is used. PACK /P will recreate the index files completely and therefore
  41. also solve this error if it occured.

  43. This version is still under construction and therefore to be regarded
  44. as BETA software, i.e. IMAIL could hang or crash during runtime, rsp.
  45. some features may not work properly etc. You are using this Public
  46. Gamma on your own risk, so please don't complain about every 'possible'
  47. bug without testing or trying to trace this bug and make it reproducable.
  48. Please note that I'm only able to fix things if I can reproduce the bug
  49. here, anything else isn't any useable information which could help me.

  51. Please also note that I'm not (and can't be) responsible for any
  52. hardware damage, data corruption/loss, which could be caused
  53. by IMAIL.

  55. First, check out the Update Doc contained in the file UPDATE.TXT,
  56. then, please go through the History file in IMAIL.HST, which contains
  57. significant informations about new features or switches, fixed bugs etc.

  59. Then, go to UPDATE.TXT, and follow the steps in this file for upgrading
  60. your old IMAIL.
