  4. What is WPTOOLS ?
  5.  
  6. WPTOOLS is a set of programs intended for the 'more experienced' Workplace
  7. shell users. The Workplace shell is the user interface for OS/2 2.x and 3.0.
  8.  
  9. With these programs one can (partially) backup and restore a customized
  10. workplace shell, remove obsolete workplace shell related information from
  11. the ini-files, repair some wps problems, etc.
  12. Also, one can from a REXX program quiry object parameters using WPTOOLS.DLL.

  14. WPTOOLS is Freeware. You can use it freely. If you however think that a

  26. This package contains the folowing files:

  28. CHECKINI.EXE : A program to check your OS2.INI and OS2SYS.INI on the
  29.                information they contain regarding the workplace shell (WPS).
  30. CHECKINI.TXT : A textfile containing a description about CHECKINI.EXE
  31.  
  32.  
  33. REPLINI.EXE  : A program that allows you to replace the current OS2.INI and
  34.                OS2SYS.INI with (smaller, copied) alternate ini files without
  35.                need for a reboot.
  36. REPLINI.TXT  : A textfile containing a description about REPLINI. 
  37.                (READ THIS FILE BEFORE USING REPLINI!)

  39. WPSBKP.EXE   : A program to create a textfile that contains information
  40.                that can be used to recreate (most) of the desktop.
  41. WPSREST.EXE  : A program to (re)create the objects that were backup'd by
  42.                WPSBKP.EXE
  43. WPSBKP.TXT   : A textfile containing a description about WPSBKP.EXE and
  44.                WPSREST.EXE
  45. WPTOOLS.DLL  : A Dynamic Link Library that is used by WPSBKP.EXE to query
  46.                The settings for WPS objects.
  47. WPTOOLS.TXT  : A textfile containing a description about WPTOOLS.DLL.

  49. RESETWPS.EXE : A little program to restart the workplace shell
  50. RESETWPS.TXT : The description of the above
  51.  
  52. DANGER.TXT   : A textfile that gives *IMPORTANT* information about
  53.                CHECKINI.EXE and WPSBKP.EXE

  55. READ.ME      : This file
  56.  
  57. GETSET.CMD   : A example REXX program to extract object information from
  58.                the workplace shell.

  60. Note: CopyIni was removed from this package since it does no longer
  61. serve any purpose.

  64. using that program.
