- The open menu has two submenuitems: "Default" and "View". "Default" is also
- used when you doubble click on an object. The WPS will select how the object
- will open just as if you doubble click on a normal object. If you select "View"
- the object will be opened by the viewer you define in the properties notebook.

- THE CONTAINER

- In the container you can view the files in two different views: Icon and
- Details view. In Icon View you simply see the files with icons and file names.

- In Details view some more information is provided:

- Icon - The same icons as used in Icon view, just smaller.

- File name - The name of the compressed file.
-
- Date - The date the file was created
-
- Old size - The size the file had before it was compressed.
-
- New size - The size of the compressed file.
-

- At the bottom of the screen is two small status areas. The leftmost will
- display information about program events such as what files are currently
- being (un)compressed and how many files there is currently selected. The
- rightmost displays which compression program that is used to view the archive.

- CREATING ARCHIVES

- When AF is installed a folder with archive templates is created on your
- desktop. To create a new archive simply drag of a file from an achive template,
- optionally rename it, and then double click on it. The Archive Folder will open
- and you will be able to select the archive to use. Use Drag'n'Drop to add files
- to the archive.

- Use Drag'n'Drop to add files to the archive or select "Actions->Add files" from
- the main menu.

- Select the files you want to delete in the archive container, click on one of
- the selected files with mouse button 2 (usually the right button) and select
- delete. The selected files will then be removed from the archive.

- You can use direct manipulation several ways.
- To extract files from an archive select them in the archive folder and drag
- them to a WPS folder. In the titlebar you can see when the files are ready to
- be dragged. When dragging files from the archive folder any archived paths will
- be skipped.

- To archive files drag them from a WPS folder to an open archive folder.

- Edit Archiver - This opens an editor with the ARCHIVER.BB2 where you can edit
- the archiver settings. The changes will first be available when you shut down
- and restart AF.

- The first box shows the creation date, the date of the last change and the date
- of the last access.

- The second box shows the number of objects (files) in the archive, the old size
- (uncompressed) and the new (compressed) size. If the information in this box is
- inaccurate it is because you have opened the properties notebook before the
- file objects have been created. Simply flip to another page and back again and
- the information will be updated.

- On this page you can change the viewer you wish to use when you select
- "Open->View" from an object popup menu. You do not need to close the notebook
