  1. This patch applies the same updates as installing the new (19-Aug-96)
  2. version of the tcpip.tgz package.  It replaces as many utilities as
  3. possible from the NetKit-B-0.06 distribution with ones from the
  4. NetKit-B-0.07A one.  Note, to the best of my knowledge this is *not* a
  5. security update -- all the holes I knew about in Slackware had already
  6. been patched.

  8. To install:

  10. 1.  Switch to single user mode with the following command:
  11.  
  12.     telinit 1
  13.  
  14. 2.  Install the package with this command:
  15.  
  16.     installpkg NetKit-B-0.07A-update.tgz
  17.  
  18. If you've already got Slackware96 installed, you're better off installing
  19. this patch than the new tcpip.tgz package.  It gives the same benefits,
  20. and keeps all your old configuration files.
