  3. Please don't worry: this is the only english text in this
  4. archive, the rest is in German! :-)

  6. This archive contains a German translation of the timEd 1.10
  7. documentation.
  8.  
  9. Several people already requested a German translation, but
  10. personally I am not capable of doing this. I speak 'C' much
  11. better than German.
  12.  
  13. After looking into the prices of commercial translators, I found
  14. out that shareware programmers are definitely not making enough
  15. money to even _think_ about this.
  16.  
  17. That was when the power of FidoNet came to the rescue: Robert
  18. Bashe told me that Roland Schiradin might be willing to help out.
  19. Even though he was not even a timEd user, he was actually willing
  20. to do the translation for me, without getting any payment in
  21. return (he bluntly refused payment)!
  22.  
  23. Roland did a very large part of the translation, but time
  24. contraints kept him from finishing it all by himself.
  25.  
  26. Others jumped in and helped him out by doing parts of the
  27. translation, as far as I know Andre Grueneberg, Joerg Lipovcek,
  28. Martin Maeuser, Christian Maluk all did about 20 pages of the
  29. translation.

  31. I hope I am not forgetting anyone, those were the names I could
  32. find back! Maybe others helped out too, in that case please let
  33. me know.

  35. Because translation all the documentation is such a huge job,
  36. there were still dozens of pages left to translate, even after
  37. getting all this help.

  39. This is where yet another kind person jumped in: Matthias Knappik
  40. (and, not to forget: his wife) took over the translation and
  41. finished the job.

  43. To be sure about the quality of the work (and on request of
  44. Matthias), I finally also asked Helco Prins to 'proof read' the
  45. entire translation and make corrections if necessary. Helco
  46. confirmed to me that the translation was of very high quality.

  48. I want to thank Roland, Matthias, Joerg, Martin, Christian and
  49. Helco for their work. They have all invested quite an amount of
  50. time to do this, without getting any direct reward for this in
  51. return.

  53. You won't get a better example of the true 'FidoNet spirit'
  54. anywhere. It makes me very happy to know that that spirit is
  55. still there.

  57. I hope many people will enjoy and benefit from this translation.
