  1. This file provides instructions on setting up the VLMs and/or NETX 
  2. workstations with the NetWare Windows drivers necessary to run Windows
  3. from the network. This setup assumes you are using NetWare 4.02.

  5. 1.   Copy the following files from the WINDR2.EXE and 
  6.      NWDLL2.EXE files to the network WINDOWS shared directory:

  8.                NWDLL2.EXE\NWDLL\NWCALLS.DLL
  9.                NWDLL2.EXE\NWDLL\NWIPXSPX.DLL
  10.                NWDLL2.EXE\NWDLL\NWLOCALE.DLL
  11.                NWDLL2.EXE\NWDLL\NWNET.DLL
  12.                NWDLL2.EXE\NWDLL\NWPSRV.DLL
  13.                WINDR2.EXE\NWPOPUP.EXE
  14.                WINDR2.EXE\VXDS\VIPX.386
  15.                WINDR2.EXE\VXDS\VNETWARE.386

  17. 2.   Also copy the following files from the [VLMDRVS] directory,
  18.      located below the root of the expanded WINDR2.EXE file, to the
  19.      network WINDOWS shared directory:
  20.  
  21.                WINDR2.EXE\VLMDRVS\NETWARE.DRV
  22.                WINDR2.EXE\VLMDRVS\NETWARE.HLP
  23.                WINDR2.EXE\VLMDRVS\NWGDI.DLL
  24.                WINDR2.EXE\VLMDRVS\NWUSER.EXE

  26. 3.   Create a "NLS" subdirectory under the network WINDOWS
  27.      directory.  Copy all the files and subdirectory(s) from a user's
  28.      personal WINDOWS\NLS directory (located on a workstation's local
  29.      drive) into the WINDOWS\NLS directory on the server.  Use either
  30.      NCOPY /s /e or XCOPY /s /e to copy all the files and
  31.      subdirectory(s) below the NLS directory.

  33.      Note:  After this is completed, all users on the network must use
  34.      the VLMs.  If NETX workstations are also accessing the shared
  35.      windows files, then complete the following: 
  36.  
  37.      a.   Create a subdirectory under the network WINDOWS directory
  38.           called [NETXDRVS]
  39.  
  40.      b.   Copy the following files from NET33X.EXE to the network
  41.           WINDOWS\NETXDRVS directory:

  43.                NET33X.EXE\NETXWIN\NETWARE.DRV
  44.                NET33X.EXE\NETXWIN\NETWARE.HLP
  45.  
  46.      c.   Edit each workstation's SYSTEM.INI of users that will be using
  47.           the NETX.EXE shell.  Under the [boot] section of the SYSTEM.INI
  48.           file, there is currently a "network.drv=netware.drv" line. Edit
  49.           this line to contain the following:

  51.                network.drv=*f:\windows\netxdrvs\netware.drv
  52.  
  53. Currently the NETWARE.DRV and NETWARE.HLP files are the only NetWare Windows
  54. drivers specific to either the VLMs or NETX.EXE.  NWUSER.EXE and NWGDI.DLL 
  55. are support files applicable only to the v3.03 NETWARE.DRV driver, and are not
  56. used by v2.02 NETWARE.DRV found in NET33X.EXE.
