  1.   This archive contains the RAR multifunctional integrated archive manager

  3.                  The RAR Archiver for OS/2 - version 1.55

  5.    RAR features:

  7.  o RAR introduces a NEW and original compression algorithm.  It
  8.    allows higher compression ratios than other PC archiving tools,
  9.    especially on executable files, Object libraries, large text
  10.    files, etc.

  12.  o RAR offers NEW facilities and features such as a full-screen
  13.    interactive interface utilising mouse and menus as well as the
  14.    command line interface.
  15.  
  16.  o RAR provides functionality for creating a 'solid' archive, which
  17.    can raise the compression ratio by 10% - 50% over more common
  18.    methods, when packing large numbers of small files.
  19.  
  20.  o RAR gives the user, using the full-screen mode, the ability to
  21.    manage non-RAR archives (.ZIP, .ARJ, .LZH).  The user may view
  22.    update, transform to self-extracting (SFX) archive, add and
  23.    erase comments, specify temporary work directory, etc.

  25.  o RAR offers the ability to create and change SFX archives using
  26.    default and external SFX modules, e.g. the installation SFX.
  27.  
  28.  o RAR offers the ability to create multi-volume archive as SFX.

  30.  o RAR offers a number of service functions, such as setting a
  31.    password, adding archive and file comments.  Damaged archives
  32.    may be repaired and an archive may be locked to prevent further
  33.    changes.  Authenticity information may be added for additional
  34.    security and RAR will store information on the last update and
  35.    name of the archive.

  37.  o RAR provides ANSI esc-sequence support in comments.  This
  38.    allows color comments and other ANSI features without the need
  39.    for an ANSI-driver.
