  26. Introduction
  27.     Timer provides the Psion-3a/Siena with an elapsed and countdown timer capability. A more sophisticated version of this program is included with Pimlico's Tracker program which uses the timer for entering time-billable records into its expense tracking database.
  28. Timer is copyrighted Freeware from Pimlico Software.  You may use it without any registration fee and may copy it for others to use provided that the copyright notice is not removed or modified.
  29. Installation
  30. The Timer.ZIP file contains three files:
  31. Timer.opa        Application program for Psion 3a/3c
  32. Timers.opa    Application program for Siena
  33. Timer.wrd    The file you are reading
  34. After unzipping the file on your MAC or PC, copy the TIMER.OPA (or TIMERS.OPA for the Siena)  file into the standard APP directory on the Psion palmtop. 
  35. Install the Timer(s).opa file by selecting the install option on the Apps menu of the System program.
  36. Running the Program
  37.     When the program is run, it will display a dialog asking you to enter a time value for the countdown timer. If you only want to display elapsed time, you can just press the ENTER key.
  38.      Otherwise you can enter a value in hours, minutes or seconds as shown in the dialog examples. You can also indicate whether or not you want the machine to beep when the countdown timer reaches zero.
  39. Exiting the Program
  40.     To exit from the program, press the ESC key.
  41. Restarting the Program
  42.     To restart the program using the same parameters as before, press the TAB key. To restart with the dialog screen, press the ENTER key.
  43. Silencing the alarm
  44.     To silence the alarm that triggers when the time is up on the countdown timer, press any key on the keyboard (other than one of the special keys such as Tab/Enter etc.). You can press a key to suppress the alarm before the countdown timer reaches zero.
  45. Shutting off the Psion
  46.     To Shut the Psion down, whilst leaving the Timer program running, press the DEL key. If you specified a value for the countdown timer, the  Psion will automatically turn itself back on for the final minute before the countdown timer reaches zero.
  47. Help screen
  48.     Press the HELP key for a quick summary of all the available functions in Timer. Most items should be self-explanatory. The Help screen also includes the date/time stamp when the program started counting.
  49. Caution
  50.     When the Timer program is running, the automatic shutoff capability of the Psion is normally disabled. If you do not need to have the timer continuously displayed, press the DEL key to turn the Psion off.
  51. Revisions
  52.     V-1.3 - 6dec95, added large number of Yield statements while the timer was running in order to avoid stealing too much CPU time that could slow down other applications

  68.     QuikNote adds a quick note taking ability to the Psion 3c/3a and Siena. How many times have you wanted to just pick up your Psion and quickly key in a phone number or short note only to stumble around opening a new word file or creating a new database entry? QuikNote gives you the ability to do just that and also view and manage multiple notes with ease. Shareware with $15/

  71.     XpensEZ is a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use time-billing and expense manager for the Psion 3a/3c. Handles multiple clients/accounts, converts foreign currencies and is highly configurable. Shareware: $25/
