Files in the search path will appear in the Search List Box. Selected files will appear in the Select List Box. The selected conversion option will be applied only to the files appearing in the Select List Box.</p> <p><img src="IMG001.gif" align=bottom width=551 height=372></p> <p> </p> <h2><a name="Menu Items"><font color="#FF0000">Menu Items</font></a></h2> <p>The menu items can be alternatively accessed by holding down the ALT key with the underlined letter in the menu selections. </p> <p>The menu items consist of the following:</p> <p><strong>File New : </strong>Creates a new configuration file to store settings.</p> <p><strong>File Open : </strong>Opens an existng configuration file.</p> <p><strong>File Save : </strong>Saves current configuration file.</p> <p><strong>File Exit :</strong> Exits program.</p> <p><strong>Preview Preview Panel :</strong> Displays a selected file in the preview panel.</p> <p><strong>Preview Default Browser :</strong> Displays a selected file using the default browser.</p> <p><strong>Defaults :</strong> Displays current default settings.</p> <p><strong>Styles Apply :</strong> Applies the selected style to the files listed in the select list box.</p> <p><strong>Styles Remove :</strong> Removes the selected style from the files listed in the select list box.</p> <p><strong>Styles Details :</strong> Displays the current style settings.</p> <p><strong>Backup :</strong> Backs up the files listed in the select list box to the default backup area.</p> <p><strong>Restore :</strong> Restores the previously backuped files to their original locations.</p> <p><strong>About :</strong> Displays registration information.</p> <p><strong>Help :</strong> Displays this help reference guide.</p> <p> </p> <h2><a name="Toolbar"><font color="#FF0000">Toolbar</font></a></h2> <p>The toolbar consists of the following shortcuts in the order listed from left to right:</p> <p><strong>File New : </strong>Creates a new configuration file to store settings.</p> <p><strong>File Open :</strong> Opens an existng configuration file.</p> <p><strong>File Save :</strong> Saves current configuration file.</p> <p><strong>Preview Screen :</strong> Previews current style applied to a selected file in the preview panel.</p> <p><strong>Preview Browser :</strong> Previews current style applied to a selected file in the default browser.</p> <p><strong>Apply Style : </strong>Applies selected style to files listed in the select list box.</p> <p><strong>Remove Style :</strong> Removes selected style from files listed in the select list box.</p> <p><strong>Defaults :</strong> Displays current default settings.</p> <p><strong>Styles :</strong> Displays current Web Styles settings.</p> <p><strong>Backup :</strong> Backs up current files in the select list box.</p> <p><strong>Restore : </strong>Restores previous backup.</p> <p><strong>Exit : </strong>Exits program.</p> <p> </p> <h2><a name="Search List Box"><font color="#FF0000">Search List Box</font></a></h2> <p>The Search list box on the left displays the files in the search path. These are either HTML or text files, depending on the file type option. The preview panel will display a file selected in the search list box.</p> <p>The following controls determine the number of files listed:</p> <p><strong>Search Path : </strong>Displays the search directory of files. Click the "..." button to select a search path or enter it manually.</p> <p><strong>Include Subfolders :</strong> Indicates if subfolders are included in the search. Check to include subfolders.</p> <p><strong>HTML or Text :</strong> Indicates to search for HTML or Text files. HTML files end with .htm or html. Text files end with .txt.</p> <p> </p> <h2><a name="Select List Box"><font color="#FF0000">Select List Box</font></a></h2> <p>The Select list box on the right displays the files to be converted. </p> <p>The following controls determine the number of files listed:</p> <p><strong>Select Button : </strong>Selects a file highlighted in the Search List Box and places it into the Select List Box.</p> <p><strong>Select All Button :</strong> Selects all files in the Search List Box and places it them into the Select List Box.</p> <p><strong>Remove Button :</strong> Removes a file highlighted in the Select List Box.</p> <p><strong>Clear All Button :</strong> Removes all files in the Select List Box.</p> <p> </p> <h2><a name="Conversion Options"><font color="#FF0000">Conversion Options</font></a></h2> <p>There are three conversion options that can be performed on the files listed in the Select List Box. These include the following:</p> <p><strong>Style : </strong>Applies the selected style as indicated in the Style Dropdown box. Click details to define or view current styles.</p> <p><strong>Search and Replace :</strong> Searches and replaces text if specified. Click details to define or view search and replace text.</p> <p><strong>Text to HTML Option :</strong> Converts plain text files into HTML files. </p> <hr> <h1><a name="Preview Panel"><font color="#FF0000">Preview Panel</font></a></h1> <p>The preview panel has two windows, an upper window that displays the file before the conversion and a lower window that displays the file after the conversion. The blue button on the right is used to view the files using the default browser.</p> <p>In order to prevent multiple instances of the default browser from being launched when previewing the results in a browser, enter the File Open keystrokes or the equivalent keystroke command to open a file in the Defaults settings from the menu selection.</p> <p><img src="IMG002.gif" align=bottom width=642 height=220></p> <p>The following controls apply to the preview panel:</p> <p><strong>Search List Box : </strong>Click on a file listed to view the file in the upper window.</p> <p><strong>Preview a File Button : </strong>Click to preview the file with a selected conversion option in the lower window. </p> <hr> <h1><a name="Defaults Settings"><font color="#FF0000">Defaults Settings</font></a></h1> <p>The default settings are used to determine the default browser and a backup area for backup files.</p> <p><img src="IMG003.gif" align=bottom width=453 height=230></p> <p><strong>Browser : </strong>Indicates a default browser. Click the '...' button on the right to choose the default browser or type it in manually.</p> <p><strong>file open keystrokes (optional) :</strong> Indicates the key strokes used to perform the File Open command. Use '%' for the ALT key and '^' for the CTL key. This option will prevent the browser from launching multiple instances if it is kept active or unminimized.</p> <p><strong>Backup Path :</strong> Indicates the default backup area. Click the '...' button on the right to choose the default backup area.</p> <hr> <h1><a name="Style Settings"><font color="#FF0000">Style Settings</font></a></h1> <p>There can be up to 10 different defined styles. Each style can contain a header, a footer, a background image and color, text color, and link colors. Although headers, footers, background, text, and link options can be defined, they do not have to be necessarily applied. </p> <p>The check boxes allow for enabling and disabling different options of each style. In order to remove a style option from a selected style, simply check the associated check box but leave its contents blank. For example, to remove the background image, check the background image check box and leave its contents field blank.</p> <p><img src="IMG004.gif" align=bottom width=574 height=539></p> <p>The following controls define the style:</p> <p><strong>New Button : </strong>Defines a new style.</p> <p><strong>Delete Button :</strong> Removes the current selected style.</p> <p><strong>Style Dropdown Box : </strong>Selects the current style.</p> <p><strong>Header Check Box : </strong>Determines if the header file is to be applied.</p> <p><strong>Header File : </strong>Indicates the header file for the style. Click the '...' button to select a header file.</p> <p><strong>Header Text Box : </strong>Displays the header file content.</p> <p><strong>Header Save :</strong> Saves the changes made in the header text box to the header file.</p> <p><strong>Background Image :</strong> Indicates the URL of the background image. This URL will not be verified.</p> <p><strong>Background Color :</strong> Indicates the background color. Click on the color box to choose a color.</p> <p><strong>Text Color : </strong>Indicates the text color. Click on the color box to choose a color.</p> <p><strong>Links Color : </strong>Indicates the links color. Click on the color box to choose a color.</p> <p><strong>Visited Color :</strong> Indicates the visited links color. Click on the color box to choose a color.</p> <p><strong>Active Color :</strong> Indicates the activbe links color. Click on the color box to choose a color.</p> <p><strong>Footer Check Box : </strong>Determines if the foorter file is to be applied.</p> <p><strong>Footer File :</strong> Indicates the footer file for the style. Click the '...' button to select a footer file.</p> <p><strong>Footer Text Box : </strong>Displays the footer file content.</p> <p><strong>Footer Save : </strong>Saves the changes made in the footer text box to the footer file.</p> <p><strong></strong> </p> <p><strong>Defining New Header Files</strong></p> <p>Type in the header filename in the Header File field, enter header text in the Header Text Box, and click on the Header Save button.</p> <p><strong></strong> </p> <p><strong>Defining New Footer Files</strong></p> <p>Type in the footer filename in the Footer File field, enter footer text in the Footer Text Box, and click on the Footer Save button.</p> <p> </p> <hr> <h1><a name="Search and Replace"><font color="#FF0000">Search and Replace</font></a></h1> <p>Use this option to search for text in all the selected files in the Select List Box and use the replace option to replace any occurances.</p> <p><img src="IMG005.gif" align=bottom width=402 height=297></p> <p>The following controls are used as follows:</p> <p><strong>Search for :</strong> Indicates the text to search.</p> <p><strong>Replace With Check Box : </strong>Indicates whether to replace the occurances with the text in the Replace Text Box.</p> <p><strong>Replace :</strong> Indicates the text to replace each occurance.</p> <hr> <h1><a name="Text to HTML"><font color="#FF0000">Text to HTML</font></a><font color="#FF0000"> </font></h1> <p>Use this option to convert plain text files to HTML files. Once converted, a defined style can be applied to the new HTML files. The text will be preformatted after the conversion.</p> </body> </html>
