- The HyperACCESS Conversion Program is provided with HyperACCESS for OS/2 to
- assist users in upgrading from previous versions of HyperACCESS and Procomm.
- With the HyperACCESS Conversion Program, you can easily upgrade from the
- following programs:

- HyperAccess Lite for OS/2
-
- HyperACCESS for Windows
-
- HyperACCESS/5 for DOS and OS/2
-
- Procomm Plus for Windows
-
- Procomm Plus 1.x (DOS)

- Procomm Plus 2.x (DOS)

- Procomm (DOS shareware)

- To use this conversion program, start it from the HyperACCESS Conversion
- Program icon in the HyperACCESS for OS/2 folder. Then select from the File
- menu the name of the program from which you are upgrading. Follow the
- instructions you see to convert files from the other program. Online help is
- also available to assist you.

- To convert system settings from HyperACCESS/5, you first have to export
- HyperACCESS/5 system settings.

- If you have already exported HyperACCESS/5 system settings as a file, enter the
- exported file name in the Convert from HA/5 window. If you need help locating
- the file, select the Browse button. The exported file has an EXP extension.

- If you have not already exported HyperACCESS/5 system settings as a file,
- follow these steps:

- 1. Exit this HyperACCESS Conversion Program for now.
-
- 2. Follow the instructions in the HyperACCESS/5 manual to export system
- settings in a file.

- 3. Restart this HyperACCESS Conversion Program.

- 4. Select Convert from HyperACCESS/5 and follow the instructions.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.2. Convert from Procomm Plus for Windows ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- You can import settings from a file created by Procomm Plus for Windows.

- If you have already exported Procomm Plus for Windows settings as a file, enter
- the exported file name in the Convert from Procomm Plus for Windows window. If
- you need help locating the file, select the Browse button. The exported file
- has an EXP extension.

- If you have not already exported Procomm Plus for Windows settings as a file,
- follow these steps:

- 1. Exit this HyperACCESS Conversion Program for now.

- 2. Start Procomm Plus for Windows.

- 3. Run either of these files, which are included in HyperACCESS for OS/2:
- PCPEXP.WAS OR PCP2EXP.WAS (for versions 1.x or 2.x, respectively).

- 4. Restart this HyperACCESS Conversion Program.

- 5. Select Convert from Procomm.
-
- 6. Enter the exported file name in the Convert from Procomm Plus for Windows
- window. If you need help locating the file, select the Browse button. The
- exported file has an EXP extension.

- HyperACCESS Conversion Program converts dialing directory information from
- Procomm Plus (version 1.x for DOS) into session files for use with HyperACCESS

- HyperACCESS Conversion Program converts information from Procomm DOS shareware
- into session files for use with HyperACCESS for OS/2. Both a parameter file and
- a directory file are necessary for the conversion.

- Enter the path, directory, and filename of the Procomm parameter file. If you
- need help locating the file, select the Browse button. The file has a PRM
- extension.

- Then enter the path, directory, and filename of the Procomm dialing directory
- file. If you need help locating the file, select the Browse button. The file
- has a DIR extension.

- Although none of HyperACCESS/5's files are directly compatible, you can convert
- its System List entries into HyperACCESS for OS/2 phonebook entries. Follow
- these steps:

- 1. Export the systems from HyperACCESS/5 as described in its manual.

- 2. Start the HyperACCESS Conversion Program in the HyperACCESS for OS/2
- folder.

- 3. Select Convert from HyperACCESS/5 from the File menu.

- 4. Select files to convert from HyperACCESS/5 files to .HAO files.

- 5. After you see a confirmation message, close the HyperACCESS Conversion
- Program.

- imported .HAO file to a phonebook entry with an associated icon and host

- You can directly import HyperACCESS for Windows phonebook entries into
- HyperACCESS for OS/2. Follow these steps:

- 1. Start the HyperACCESS Conversion Program in the HyperACCESS for OS/2
- folder.

- 2. Select File/Convert from HyperACCESS for Windows....
-
- 3. In the window titled Select HyperACCESS for Windows files, find the HAWIN
- directory and then select the files you want to import (they have HAS
- extensions).

- 4. When you have selected the files to import, select OK. An information
- message is displayed telling you the files have been converted.

- 5. Close the HyperACCESS Conversion Program.

- 6. Start HyperACCESS for OS/2.

- 7. Select the phonebook panel File/Import... menu choice.

- 8. Select the files you converted from HyperACCESS for Windows (they now
- have HAO extensions).

- 9. Select OK. Your converted, imported phonebook entries appear in the
- phonebook panel.

- You can directly import HyperACCESS Lite for OS/2 phonebook entries into this
- full version of HyperACCESS. Follow these steps:

- 1. Start the HyperACCESS Conversion Program in the HyperACCESS for OS/2
- folder.

- 2. Select File/Convert from HyperACCESS Lite.

- 3. In the window titled Select HyperACCESS Lite Files, find the HALITE
- directory and then select the files you want to import (they have HAL
- extensions).

- 4. When you have selected the files to import, select OK. An information
- message is displayed telling you the files have been converted.

- 5. Close the HyperACCESS Conversion Program.

- 6. Start HyperACCESS for OS/2.

- Use the HyperACCESS Conversion Program provided with HyperACCESS to convert
- dialing directories from Procomm Plus for Windows, Procomm Plus 1.x (DOS),
- Procomm Plus 2.x (DOS), or Procomm (DOS shareware) into HyperACCESS .HAO
- phonebook entries. Then use the File/Import... menu choice on the HyperACCESS
- for OS/2 phonebook panel to assign each imported .HAO file to a phonebook entry
- with an associated icon and host entry name.
