  5. This document informs PGP users how to verify that the files listed
  6. below (supplied in the ZIP / Disk) originated from ChekWARE, developers 
  7. of ChekMate, and has not been tampered by a third party.

  9. For information about PGP download the PGP package from any SimTel ftp 
  10. mirror or BBS.
  11.  
  12. If PGP has been installed and configured properly, and after you have
  13. added the CHEKMATE.PGP public key, you can now verify the files below:

  44. Note that the information displayed may differ from this example. 
  45. However, if the phrase "Good signature from user Martin Overton"
  46. is displayed you can be sure the file originated from Martin Overton 
  47. and (ChekWARE).

  49. If the files are verified, then you are safe to use them.
  50.  
  51. This is an additional security check that can be used instead of the MD5
  52. hash values given in the manual. The reason that it can be used INSTEAD, 
  53. is that PGP is more secure as a verification tool.
