  1. ChekMate 2.0
  2. ------------
  3.  
  4. Please follow these steps BEFORE using ChekMate for the first time:
  5.  
  6. 1. Read ALL of the manual (If this is too much to ask, then skip to step 3)
  7.  
  8. 2. Check the MD5 Hash values against the files in this ZIP. 
  9.    (The MD5 Hash values are printed in the manual.)
  10.    (See SECURITY.PGP if you use PGP.)
  11.  
  12. 3. Create a directory where you want ChekMate to be installed.
  13.  
  14. 4. Ensure that you are in that 'new' directory and unzip the ChekMate ZIP
  15.    file. 
  16.    
  17. 5. Run SETUP.EXE from the directory where you installed ChekMate. This will
  18.    allow you to set the correct details for the system that you are going to
  19.    ChekMate on. If you are not sure about the settings required then please
  20.    run SETUP.EXE /AUTO as this will automatically build a correct INI file
  21.    for your system.

  23. 6. From the directory where you installed ChekMate, run CHEKMATE.EXE.
  24.  
  25.    ChekMate will warn you that 'Fingerprint Files' are missing. 
  26.    This is normal for a new installation. Press ANY key to rebuild the
  27.    missing 'Fingerprint' file.
  28.  
  29.    This may loop up to 6 times, as ChekMate builds the required files.
  30.    (You will notice that the name of each file being built is shown after 
  31.    the warning message.)
  32.  
  33.    After ChekMate has finished building the 'Fingerprint Files' ChekMate
  34.    will then run and check the files supplied and the new files etc.

  36.    If no error messages are displayed, ChekMate is then correctly installed:

  38.    HOWEVER: If ChekMate reported that the BAIT Files have been changed then
  39.    send me a copy of the reported file immediatley as you MAY have a virus 
  40.    active on your system.

  42. 7. If you have not already read the manual, READ THE MANUAL NOW!
