the character sheet.  Your gold pieces have increased,
and you can buy all the spells you want.  This may be a
glitch in the program, but it's to your advantage, so
who cares.

type: DSIMAGIC.  Press <SPACE> bar to unpause the game,
when a yellow capsule falls, make sure you catch it.

Fire Balls - Move the joystick, left and right in
succession, about 7 times.  Then press the fire key.
This will also cost one hit point of damage.

Shield - Move the joystick, left and right in succession
about 7 times.  Then press the jump key.  You should
turn a different color, and a shield will appear around
you.  This only lasts a short time.

Invincibility - Move the joystick to the up position for
2 seconds.  Then move it to the down position.  You
should flash and be invincible for a short time.

   Cheats:
    Das Spiel war noch ganz neu, aber dennoch konnte schon der Mega-Cheat
    schnell herausgefunden werden:

    Scheinbar kommt kein Spiel mehr ohne den God-Mode aus. Hier kannst Du
    ihn folgendermaßen aktivieren:

    Starte das Spiel mit abuse -edit und drücke anschließend [Shift][Z]
    (Achtung: deutsche Tastatur z=y). Dabei mußt Du beachten, daß der
    Cusor während dieser Aktion im Fenster ist. Danach kannst Du das
    Spiel mit [Tab] starten ...

    Eine weitere nette Sache ist das Feuern ohne Munition:

    Für den Fall, daß Du für eine Waffe keine Munition mehr hast, aber
    noch genug für eine andere Waffe, kannst Du diese Waffe dennoch
    abfeuern, nämlich indem Du den rechten Maus-Button gedrückt hältst,
    während Du mit der linken Maus-Taste feuerst.
    Wenn Du z.B, keine Munition mehr für den Flammenwerfer hast, kannst
    Du ihn so abfeuern und die Munition für Granaten wird nur um eins
    reduziert. Achtung: mit dem Laser funktioniert dies leider nicht !

Do not use the cheat codes unless you have been stuck somewhere for longer than
many days. They WILL spoil the game.

Start Half-Life using hl.exe -dev -toconsole. This will let you access the
console using "~" key. To do this, create a shortcut to hl.exe (by
right-clicking on hl.exe and selecting Create Shortcut). Then right click on
the shortcut, go to Properties and add -dev -toconsole to Target: box so it
reads "c:\whatever\hl.exe -dev -toconsole". Use this shortcut to start Half-Life

You may have to type "sv_cheats 1" in console first.

If you are having problems getting these to work, read this post for some
explanations.
