  25.   This is a short text file I put together for the purpose of quick access
  26.   to codes, addon levels, and LMP demos.  There are some other premium
  27.   text files and helpful things to make your DOOMing experience more 
  28.   exciting which are listed below!

  41.                                 Game Palace bbs

  43.   Game Palace started on 04/07/94 as a small bbs for users to obtain the
  44.   latest patches and upgrades available for PC Games.  I personally got
  45.   tired of calling long distance to get the latest patch or upgrade and
  46.   figured a bbs would help.  I have never ran a bbs prior to this and I
  47.   just got my first modem in December of 1993.  (Yes, I'm a newbie!) <g>
  48.  
  49.   As a DOOM addict, I figured why not cater to this awesome game.  There
  50.   were alot files out and more coming!  I started by adding one file area
  51.   for DOOM on the board, but that wasn't enough.  I now have 30 file areas
  52.   devoted to DOOM and will probably have to add more in the future.
  53.   I gained users from all over the U.S., Canada, Japan, Europe, etc.
  54.   In 2 months!  The demand for DOOM had increased so much, I had to delete
  55.   alot of other files to make room on my hard drive.
  56.   Unfortunately, I only have one computer so I don't get to play as much
  57.   as I would like to.

  59.   Right now as of this writing, I have over 1,300 WADS and 260+ megs of DOOM
  60.   files online.  Since I get so many new DOOM files daily, I created a 
  61.   "DOOMlist" which contains all the DOOM files on Game Palace bbs.  This
  62.   is updated nightly!  It is called "DOOMLIST.ZIP"

  98.   There are certain keys you can use to gain access to some wonderful 
  99.   things in DOOM2.  Type these while playing the game.  Here they are:

  101.   IDDQD                        Degreelessness mode (Invincible)
  102.   IDKFA                        Very Happy Ammo (Full stock of weapons &
  103.                                                 ammo)
  104.   IDBEHOLD   (follow it by S, V, I, R, A, L)
  105.        S----Strength (Beserk mode)
  106.        V----Invunerability
  107.        I----Partial Invicibility
  108.        R----Radiation Suit
  109.        A----Auto Map
  110.        L----Light Amplifiers

  119.                                 Command Lines

  121.  There are command lines within DOOM2 that can be used when intially 
  122.  running the game.  For more information on exactly what all of 
  123.  these lines mean, pick up "The 'Official' DOOM2 FAQ" by Hank Leukart.

  125.  At the DOOM2 directory type:   "DOOM2 -devparm <parameter>
  126.  These can be several followed by eachother for various effects such
  127.  as warping, recording a demo, respawning monsters, or taking .PCX
  128.  screenshots.

  130.  -config <filename>          Reads alternate configuration file
  131.  -deathmatch                 Starts NetDoom in Deathmatch mode
  132.  -debugfile <parameter>      Dumps debugging into debug<parm>.txt
  133.  -warp xx                    Starts on level 01, 02, ... 30
  134.  -file <name.wad>            Allows usage of PWAD
  135.  -left                       Sets up a network terminal for the "left view"
  136.  -loadgame <game number>     Starts from save game # 0-5
  137.  -net <players>              Starts NetDoom with 1-4 players     
  138.  -noblit                     Speeds up game on some systems
  139.  -nodraw                     Speeds up game on some systems
  140.  -nojoy                      Does not use joystick
  141.  -nomonsters                 Starts games without monsters
  142.  -nomouse                    Does not use mouse
  143.  -nomusic                    No background music
  144.  -nosfx                      No sound effects
  145.  -nosound                    No sound at all
  146.  -playdemo <name w/o .lmp>   Playback a recorded demo
  147.  -record <name w/o .lmp>     Record a demo til you die or finish
  148.  -recordfrom <0-5><demo name>Records from a saved game 
  149.  -respawn                    Cause enemies to respawn in Non-Nightmare game
  150.  -right                      Sets up NetDoom terminal for "right view"
  151.  -skill <skill level>        Starts on skill level 1-5 
  152.  -timedemo <name w/o .lmp>   Caculates screen redraw times in demo

  154.                           PWADS (Addon external levels)
  155.  
  156.  PWADS are external levels made by people with level editors.  These
  157.  PWADS ("Patch" WADS) are inserted with the command line "-file" and
  158.  allow you to play a new level!  For complete information on PWADS,
  159.  check out "The 'official' DOOM2 FAQ" by Hank Leukart or "DOOMWAD"
  160.  by Steve Huskisson.  "DOOMWAD" is available at Game Palace BBS.

  164.  To run a PWAD file, make sure the new level is in your DOOM2 directory 
  165.  and from there type:

  167.  "DOOM2 -file <xxxx.wad>"        
  168.  
  169.  Where the xxxx is, substitute with the name of the PWAD, and include
  170.  the .WAD extension.
  171.  An example would be:  "DOOM2 -file cool.wad"

  173.  You can combine PWADS in one line.
  174.  There are also sound files on PWADS that are ran the same way.

  176.                                 LMP (Demos)
  177.  
  178.  An .lmp file is a recording of a game of DOOM2, either single player or
  179.  a deathmatch game.  You can even make a recording of your favorite
  180.  PWAD file.  These are fun to sit back and watch, as your friends dueled
  181.  on Deathmatch, or if you need to know where secret rooms are!

  183.  To record a demo type at the DOOM2 directory:

  185.  DOOM2 -devparm -record <demo name w/o .lmp>

  187.  Do not include the .lmp.

  189.  To record your favorite PWAD type at the DOOM2 directory:
