  44.    To run the 32-bit Communicator, you MUST have a 32-bit TCP/IP stack.
  45.    Both Windows 95 and Windows NT provide built-in 32bit TCP/IP
  46.    stacks that you can set up.  You can also get TCP/IP
  47.    software from third-party vendors, such as Trumpet Software
  48.    or Ftp Software.

  50.    To run the 16-bit Communicator, you MUST have a 16-bit TCP/IP stack.
  51.    You can get (16-bit) TCP/IP software from third-party vendors, such as
  52.    Trumpet Software and Ftp Software.

  54.    To obtain a copy of Netscape Communicator, download one of the
  55.    self-extracting executable files into a temporary directory.

  67. * Windows 95 users, if you are using any versions prior to this
  68.   release, you will get multiple uninstall entries in your
  69.   Add/Remove program.  If you prefer not having multiple
  70.   entries, you should do an uninstall to remove your previous
  71.   version of Communicator before you install the new release.

  73. * The Netscape Audio Plug-in will only work if you have a sound
  74.   card installed and configured properly.  It will not work
  75.   with the PC speaker driver. Please check your sound card manual
  76.   to configure the sound card.

  78. * If you had previously installed CoolTalk Watchdog, then you must
  79.   uninstall the version you have and reboot your machine before
  80.   installing the latest version.  You might experience some
  81.   problems running Cooltalk with Matrox MGA Millennium graphic 
  82.   adapters using early Windows95 drivers. Make sure that you are 
  83.   running version 2.22.039 or later.

  85. * If you have deinstalled an earlier version of Communicator, reboot 
  86.   your system before installing another copy of Communicator. Files
  87.   might exist that cannot be deleted until your system is rebooted.

  96. What do I need to run Netscape Communicator?

  98. There are two requirements for Netscape Communicator Professional Edition:

  100.     1. A direct Ethernet connection to the network (providing intranet or 
  101.        Internet access), or a dialup SLIP or PPP account from an Internet 
  102.        service provider.
  103.  
  104.     2. TCP/IP stack.
  105.  
  106. You can get a direct connection to the Internet through a service
  107. provider in your area.  Your network administrator can help
  108. you connect to your intranet. Your service provider or your network
  109. administrator can also provide you with a SLIP or a PPP
  110. account.

  118. The Netscape installer will overwrite existing OLE2 DLLs with the
  119. latest versions for US Windows. This will not affect 32-bit
  120. Windows. Occasionally, the Japanese user may see an English
  121. language OLE2 error message after installing Netscape Communicator.
  122. Currently, there are no Japanese versions available for the OLE2 DLLs.
