-
- SETUP:

- Before playing Starcom you should run sndsetup.exe to configure the soundcard.
- If you are going to use a joystick then run joysetup.exe and then make sure
- when you start starcom.exe that you select joystick input in the options menu.

- will be saved.

- Use this program to calibrate your joystick. It is recommended that you
- use a Gravis Gamepad because it has the best control.
- --
-
- Once you run Starcom.exe you will be presented with a main menu. Use the up
- and down arrow keys and the space bar to navigate the menus. The OPTIONS menu
- will allow you to change certain setting to improve the game.
-
- SOUND SETTINGS
-
- Selecting this will bring up a jukebox style player. It will allow you to play
- every sound effect and song in the game. Use the TAB to select between
- playing the sound effects and digital music. You can also change the volume
- settings for the sound effects and music by using the "+" and "-" keys. The
- sound effects can be played by hitting the space bar. The music is played the

- These option are used to turn on and off certain details in the graphics.

- D) Story
- --------
-
- You are part of a federation of planets in the
- Milkyway galaxy. You are a member of the elite fighter
- squadron know as Starcom. The purpose of Starcom is to
- maintain the peace and expansion of all colonies within
- the galaxy. News of Starcom's great success had reached
- people as far as the Cavelys galaxy.
-
- In the Orion galaxy, a couple million light years
- from the Milkyway galaxy, a unknown force had begun
- to take over small non-inhabited planets. Several
- communications have come from the Orion galaxy asking
- the federation for assistance in the destruction of
- this force. Federation policy is not to interfere with
- the problems in other galaxies, so they regretfully
- declined to help them.
-
- Several years went by with no communications from
- the Orion galaxy. You decided to go against federation
- policy and go seek out what was happening in the Orion
- galaxy, because whatever was happening to Orion could
- happen to the Milkyway. And it is your duty to defend
- your galaxy. You decide to take the first wormhole to
- the Orion galaxy, of course you have no idea what awaits
- you on the other side of the wormhole...
-
-
-
-
- ------------------
- E) Troubleshooting
