  1. Welcome to the NetManage Registration Server for Automatic Internet!

  4. IF YOU ALREADY OWN AN INTERNET SERVICE ACCOUNT, USE THIS
  5. TAB TO SIGN UP THROUGH THE NETMANAGE REGISTRATION SERVER.

  7. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SIGN UP FOR A NEW INTERNET ACCOUNT,
  8. SIGN UP THROUGH ANY OF THE OTHER TABS.

  12. THE REGISTRATION PROCESS
  13. ==========================
  14. Automatic Internet will configure your software for connection to the Internet
  15. in a few minutes.  If your software is not already activated with a serial number.
  16. Automatic Internet will also sign you up for a free 30-day demonstration or permanent
  17. software activation at the time of configuration.
  18.  
  19. To register, fill out both registration forms. A credit card number is necessary
  20. to authorize the transaction. Hit the "Phone" button and choose the appropriate
  21. local or toll-free phone number to dial into the registration server.  Next, hit the
  22. "Send" button.
  23.  
  24. You will be given a choice of
  25.     - activating your software for a free 30-day demonstration and
  26.        configuring your connection
  27.     - purchasing your software to activate it permanently and
  28.        configuring your connection (Current pricing will be shown.)
  29.     - configuring your connection only (for already activated software).
  30. Remember, the NetManage tab will not sign you up for a new Internet account.
  31.  
  32. NOTE: All communication with the registration server is over a secure
  33. phone line, not the Internet. Your credit card will not be charged unless
  34. you explicitly sign up for a regular (non-demonstration) account and license.
  35. You will be given an opportunity to cancel the transaction after dialing
  36. into a registration server and before continuing with the sign-up process.
  37. Your credit card information will not be passed to the provider's server
  38. unless you agree to continue after receiving the initial hello message(s)
  39. and pricing information from the server.

  41. SIGNING UP FOR A NEW INTERNET ACCOUNT
  42. =====================================
  43. Use any of the non-NetManage tabs if you would like to signup for a new
  44. dial-up account that will allow you to connect to the Internet via a modem
  45. or personal ISDN line.  If you are on a LAN, please contact your LAN
  46. administrator for information about accessing the Internet through the LAN.
  47.  
  48. Some providers offer time-limited demonstration accounts free of charge.
  49. Information on the providers and their pricing will be presented at the time
  50. you connect with their registration server or can be seen by selecting
  51. the More Info button on each tab.
  52.  
  53. Connect charges and demonstration periods are subject to change - you
  54. will be notified of the most current pricing during online registration.
  55. You will not be charged until you have agreed to the pricing and terms
  56. of agreement. If you have questions on pricing or local access number
  57. availability, please contact the provider directly.

  59. TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
  60. ======================
  61. - Modem is not dialing.
  62.     Press the "Advanced" button and check your com port.
  63. - Modem is having trouble connecting.
  64.     Make sure your modem is dialing in at 2400 baud.
  65. - What do I put in the "Provider ID" field on Registration Form 2?
  66.     Your provider will inform you if they have a NetManage-assigned
  67.     Provider ID.  If they do not have an ID, leave this field blank.
  68.     When the registration process is complete, you must open the Custom
  69.     application and fill out your provider's Domain Name Server(s),
  70.     setup your mail gateway and mail server within the Mail application,
  71.     and setup your news server within the News application.  Please
  72.     refer to the manual for more information.
