Transcription: The integrated circuit technology selected for the Cray T90 series was developed in conjunction with Motorola. The emitter-collector dotted logic family provides several innovations critical to the success of the Cray T90 program. Each ECD chip has 50,000 gates, about half of which are usable in the typical chip design. This represents a four times increase in the density of gates per logic element over the Cray C90.
