- My-T-Mouse Demonstration Notes
- ==============================
-
- The My-T-Mouse Dealer Evaluation copy comes with a Demonstration
- portion. The My-T-Mouse software on the disk is a complete
- working copy for evaluation & demonstration purposes. The
- Demonstration program has several options to show My-T-Mouse's
- Features, including a continuous self-running demo.
-
- Specific information regarding the Demonstration and its options
- are detailed below.
-
- Demonstration Options
- ---------------------
-
- There are 4 options available when you run the My-T-Mouse Demo.
- Click on the button to select the option.
-
-
- "Run Demo Once"
-
- This option will run through the Demo once that shows off all of
- My-T-Mouse's panels & features & Return to the Main Option Screen
-
-
- "Continuous Demo"
-
- This option will run through the Demo and show off all of
- My-T-Mouse's panels & features, pause for 10 seconds with an
- option to discontinue, and then run the demo again. This will
- run continuously if not stopped. This option is ideal for a
- "floor" unit because of the eye-catching action & quick display
- of what My-T-Mouse can do.
-
-
- "Screen Saver Demo"
-
- This option uses the standard Microsoft Windows 3.1 Starfield
- Screen saver as a backdrop, with My-T-Mouse "floating" through
- space. This is another option to use on a "floor" unit as an
- eye catcher because of its unique appearance.
- NOTE: This option assumes that the only screen savers in use
- are the ones that ship with Windows 3.1 or other screen savers
- that use the "SCR" extension and are configurable from the
- Windows Control Panel Desktop icon.
-
-
- "Exit Demo"
-
- This option exits the Demonstration program, allowing My-T-Mouse
- to run as an actual "live" unit for Hands-On demonstration.
-
- Demonstration Technical Notes
- -----------------------------
-
- There are several options available to those users who are more
- technical and familiar with the Microsoft Windows operating
- environment.
-
- Changes to My-T-Mouse:
-
- On the Demonstration / Evaluation copy, the My-T-Mouse opening
- has been disabled. After First-Time installation of My-T-Mouse
- from the standard retail version, My-T-Mouse will run through
- an opening introduction, and go right into the My-T-Mouse
- Tutorial. To reset My-T-Mouse to Open as it would after
- installation from the standard retail version, Modify the
- MYTMOUSE.INI (located in the WINDOWS directory) and modify
- the OpenFirst=0 to OpenFirst=1 (this setting is under the
- [Configuration] section). Save this configuration, and then
- restart My-T-Mouse from the Program Manager Icon by
- double-clicking on the icon.
-
- All opening & title screens have been designated "Demonstration -
- Not for Resale" - This Version is ONLY for demonstration &
- evaluation purposes and CAN NOT be resold. Contact Future
- Technologies at (702) 733-2022 for resale information, dealer
- discounts, and promotions.
-
- Auto-Run option:
-
- If you wish to dedicate a "floor" PC to the My-T-Mouse
- Demonstration, the following configuration allows the My-T-Mouse
- Demonstration to run automatically with no user input required.
-
- Note: This section assumes basic knowledge of the PC, MS-DOS, and
- Windows.
-
- Step 1: Modify the system's AUTOEXEC.BAT file to run Windows. e.g.
- add the lines CD \WINDOWS, and WIN to the end of the AUTOEXEC.BAT
- to automatically run windows from boot-up.
-
- Step 2: Under the Run setting in the WIN.INI file under the
- [windows] section, set Windows to Run the My-T-Mouse Demonstration
- when Windows begins, e.g. Run=C:\WINDOWS\MYTMOUSE\MYTDEMO.EXE
- Note: Use the installation directory of My-T-Mouse and the demo
- is MYTDEMO.EXE.
-
- Step 3: In the [StartUp] section of the MYTMOUSE.INI file, there
- is a setting called AutoRunDemo. The default is AutoRunDemo=0.
- Set AutoRunDemo=1 to skip the opening Options buttons, and go
- directly into the Continuous Demo.
-
- Step 4: Reset the system (or power off, then on). The system will
- then run Windows, run the Demonstration program, and automatically
- run the continuous demo.
