  1. My-T-Mouse Demonstration Notes

  4. The My-T-Mouse Dealer Evaluation copy comes with a Demonstration
  5. portion. The My-T-Mouse software on the disk is a complete 
  6. working copy for evaluation & demonstration purposes. The 
  7. Demonstration program has several options to show My-T-Mouse's 
  8. Features, including a continuous self-running demo.

  10. Specific information regarding the Demonstration and its options
  11. are detailed below.

  13. Demonstration Options
  14. ---------------------

  16. There are 4 options available when you run the My-T-Mouse Demo.
  17. Click on the button to select the option.

  20. "Run Demo Once"
  21.  
  22. This option will run through the Demo once that shows off all of
  23. My-T-Mouse's panels & features & Return to the Main Option Screen
  24.

  26. "Continuous Demo"
  27.  
  28. This option will run through the Demo and show off all of 
  29. My-T-Mouse's panels & features, pause for 10 seconds with an
  30. option to discontinue, and then run the demo again. This will
  31. run continuously if not stopped. This option is ideal for a 
  32. "floor" unit because of the eye-catching action & quick display
  33. of what My-T-Mouse can do.

  36. "Screen Saver Demo"
  37.  
  38. This option uses the standard Microsoft Windows 3.1 Starfield 
  39. Screen saver as a backdrop, with My-T-Mouse "floating" through
  40. space. This is another option to use on a "floor" unit as an
  41. eye catcher because of its unique appearance.
  42. NOTE: This option assumes that the only screen savers in use
  43. are the ones that ship with Windows 3.1 or other screen savers
  44. that use the "SCR" extension and are configurable from the
  45. Windows Control Panel Desktop icon.

  48. "Exit Demo"
  49.  
  50. This option exits the Demonstration program, allowing My-T-Mouse
  51. to run as an actual "live" unit for Hands-On demonstration.

  53. Demonstration Technical Notes
  54. -----------------------------

  56. There are several options available to those users who are more
  57. technical and familiar with the Microsoft Windows operating 
  58. environment.
  59.  
  60. Changes to My-T-Mouse:
  61.  
  62. On the Demonstration / Evaluation copy, the My-T-Mouse opening
  63. has been disabled. After First-Time installation of My-T-Mouse 
  64. from the standard retail version, My-T-Mouse will run through
  65. an opening introduction, and go right into the My-T-Mouse 
  66. Tutorial. To reset My-T-Mouse to Open as it would after 
  67. installation from the standard retail version, Modify the
  68. MYTMOUSE.INI (located in the WINDOWS directory) and modify
  69. the OpenFirst=0 to OpenFirst=1 (this setting is under the
  70. [Configuration] section). Save this configuration, and then
  71. restart My-T-Mouse from the Program Manager Icon by 
  72. double-clicking on the icon.

  74. All opening & title screens have been designated "Demonstration - 
  75. Not for Resale" - This Version is ONLY for demonstration & 
  76. evaluation purposes and CAN NOT be resold. Contact Future

  80. Auto-Run option:

  82. If you wish to dedicate a "floor" PC to the My-T-Mouse
  83. Demonstration, the following configuration allows the My-T-Mouse
  84. Demonstration to run automatically with no user input required.
  85.  
  86. Note: This section assumes basic knowledge of the PC, MS-DOS, and
  87. Windows.

  89. Step 1: Modify the system's AUTOEXEC.BAT file to run Windows. e.g.
  90. add the lines CD \WINDOWS, and WIN to the end of the AUTOEXEC.BAT
  91. to automatically run windows from boot-up.
  92.  
  93. Step 2: Under the Run setting in the WIN.INI file under the
  94. [windows] section, set Windows to Run the My-T-Mouse Demonstration
  95. when Windows begins, e.g. Run=C:\WINDOWS\MYTMOUSE\MYTDEMO.EXE
  96. Note: Use the installation directory of My-T-Mouse and the demo
  97. is MYTDEMO.EXE.

  99. Step 3: In the [StartUp] section of the MYTMOUSE.INI file, there
  100. is a  setting called AutoRunDemo. The default is AutoRunDemo=0.
  101. Set AutoRunDemo=1 to skip the opening Options buttons, and go 
  102. directly into the Continuous Demo.

  104. Step 4: Reset the system (or power off, then on). The system will
  105. then run Windows, run the Demonstration program, and automatically
  106. run the continuous demo.
