You can use graphics or other kinds of information from another Windows application
by linking or embedding the graphic as an object in your presentation. This is a powerful technique because you can
edit the object with the same application that was used to create it from within Compel, just by double-clicking the object.
A linked object consists of a reference in your Compel presentation to the file that contains the object. If you change the original file, the changes automatically appear
in your presentation. An embedded object is completely contained within your presentation..

Sometimes an idea can be communicated more effectively with text and graphics rather than with text alone. You may want to illustrate a particular point or simply add visual interest to your presentation.
This topic describes how
to enhance your message
by drawing graphic objects, using clip art, and including graphics from other Windows applications in your Compel presentations.

To draw most graphic objects, you choose the tool from the tool palette for the kind of object you want. Then, hold down the mouse button and drag, and release the mouse button when the object is the size you want.
You draw angled lines, curves, and irregular polygons a little differently. Because these objects consist of more than one line segment, you release the mouse button to draw each segment and double-click to finish the last segment.

To make editing objects easier, Compel offers a useful shortcut: right-click any object to display a menu of just the commands that are relevant for the object.
The menu pops up where you click. You can move the menu to a different location by dragging its title bar, and you can use either the left or right mouse button to choose items from the menu.

If you create a graphic composed of more than one graphic object, you can make the objects into a group.
Grouping objects makes
several objects act like one. You can select the entire group by clicking any of its members and move the group as a unit. When you size a group, each
of its members is sized in proportion to the others.
If you want to work with a group

Another way to bring a graphic into a presentation is to import the file that contains it. When you import a graphic file, Compel converts the graphic from its original file format into
a Compel bitmap or picture object.
Importing a file can be more convenient than copying and pasting a graphic because you don
t have to run the file
s original application and open the file first. For example, if the file contains only one graphic image, it
s faster to import it. Or, you might import a file if you can
