  5. DESCRIPTION
  6.      The chat command allows you to "talk" keyboard-to-keyboard with
  7.      the operator of this NOS system. When you select this function,
  8.      a new  window  will be  opened on the  operator's  console, and
  9.      whatever  you type will be  visible  there.  If the operator is
  10.      present, and types something in return, it will be sent back to
  11.      you.

  13.      When you wish to  terminate the chat session, type  the  escape
  14.      character on your keyboard, and then press <ENTER> or <RETURN>.
  15.      The default escape character is "CTRL-X",  which  means to hold
  16.      down the <CTRL> key and press the <X> key simultaneously.  This
  17.      escape character may be changed to whatever you prefer by using
  18.      the "E[scape]" command.
