- The resident file-viewer by Clockwork Software.

- This little file viewer was asked for by one of our customers, and seems
- a handy enough tool. Designed to replace the TYPE command but to be
- memory resident and much more flexible.

- │ Type :- VIEW │
- │ at the DOS prompt to install the program in memory. │
- │ VIEW occupies only about 13.5k of RAM. │
- │ │
- │ Type :- VIEW REMOVE │
- │ at the DOS prompt to remove VIEW and release the memory. │
- │ │
- │ Note that other resident programs (TSRs) installed above VIEW may lock │
- │ it into place, so you might have to remove them first. │
- │ │
- │ If you use crummy TSRs which aren't self-removing, install Clockwork's │
- │ XTRA program. XTRA's REMOVE command strips out all residents. │

- │ VIEW is supplied with Alt + V as the ACTION KEYS. Press both KEYS │
- │ together to call and to dismiss the program. │
- │ │
- │ The ACTION KEYS can be changed by pressing "A" for Action, and saved │
- │ as defaults for future occasions provided VIEW.COM is in the current │
- │ directory. │
- │ │
- │ If you forget what the ACTION KEYS are, attempting to re-install the │
- │ program will display your current settings. │

- │ Load a file for viewing by pressing F3. You may select an ambiguous │
- │ file specification (using ???s and *s) and select any drive or path. │

- │ You can drive around your file using a combination of: │
- │ , , PgUp, PgDn, Home and End. │

- │ Press F1 or ? to see the help file (this one). It replaces any │
- │ other file you may have been viewing at the time. │

- │ There are three switches which control the way the file is displayed:- │
- │ │
- │ HEX-MODE: │
- │ File data can be viewed in ASCII or HEX mode to choice, the H key │
- │ toggles between modes while maintaining roughly the same position │
- │ in the file. │

- │ WRAP: │
- │ In ASCII display mode you may select whether lines longer than │
- │ 80 characters are displayed on one line (with right-end lost), │
- │ or wrapped onto subsequent lines. │
- │ │
- │ GRAPHICS: │
- │ You may select whether characters above ASCII(128) are folded or │
- │ shown as IBM graphics. CRLFs are also displayed, and TAB │
- │ characters expanded or not according to the Graphics mode. │
