Most of our products go down the drain after use and end up in sewage treatment works. If the ingredients do not biodegrade, they enter the environment via sewage effluent into streams and rivers or via sewage sludge amendment of agricultural land.
When an ingredient is described as Biodegradable, this means that it can be broken down into simpler units by the natural action of living Micro-organisms. Only organic chemicals (ie those containing carbon) can be described as biodegradable.
