  18. TO UNINSTALL:
  19. Go to C:\windows and double-click the "Floating Cities.exe" file

  21. TROUBLESHOOTING:
  22. Invalid Page Faults:  
  23. Reboot the computer, if they still persist 
  24. uninstall using directions above, reboot computer, reinstall.

  26. Registration Text Remains After Payment Was Made:
  27. Check the .ini file.  Sometimes a computer or the application will 
  28. "hiccup" allowing the ini file to reset itself.  If problem persist 
  29. please contact vendor.  The .ini file is created the first time you run
  30. the screen saver.

  32. The Screen Saver Is Bigger Than My Monitor:  
  33. The scene gets cut off:
  34. Set your resolution to 800 x 600 via display properties in control panel.
  35.  
  36. Setting Your Resolution:  
  37. You need to go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display
  38. Click the Settings tab and in the DeskTop Area slide the setting to 800 x 600
  39.  
  40. Setting The Color Depth:  
  41. You need to go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display
  42. Click the Settings tab and in the Color Palette drop down list box choose High Color - 16 Bit.

  44. Changing The Graphics Driver:  
  45. If your screen saver has been installed but no graphics are showing
  46. you may need to change your graphics driver.  We ship 3 different drivers with this screen saver,
  47. try different ones to see if it helps restore the graphics.  Do this by running the setup.exe
  48. program and choose "Change Graphics Driver" then follow the instructions.

  51. FAQ's:

  53. Will it work in 640 x 480:  
  54. You can either follow the instructions above or wait until
  55. we post a version for 640 x 480.   Until then it will be cropped.

  57. Why doesn't the resolution automatically adjust?  
  58. Well,  we have developed one that does,  however our 
  59. screen savers are graphically intensive and the loss of qualtity in the scaling is not something we deem 
  60. acceptable.  By developing specifically for a particular resolution,  you get the best possible
  61. graphics.

  63. Why aren't there settings to control different aspects of the screen saver?    
  64. Because we want to offer a screen saver at a reasonable price, (Under $7.00).  To do this we cut
  65. corners.  Options and settings are one of the major corners we cut.  Those require many more 
  66. programming hours.

  69. We strongly recommend a Pentium processor made by INTEL.  For unknown reasons, chips made by 
  70. Cyrix and AMD sometimes cause General Protection Faults or just will not run at all.
